This design has a major flaw. The touchpad is centered in the laptop including the number pad. There is no way to do two hand typing on the main keyboard without resting or touching the right side of the touch pad which can result in unintended taps or cursor movements while typing. Typing trying to avoid it will strain your hand. It is the most annoying thing I have ever encountered in a laptop (I have the intel version, same chassis), so much so I leave the touchpad disabled and use a bluetooth mouse.

Does this one have the same issue?

My daughter loves her asus zenbook I got her 3 years ago. Still working ok, but periodically her cursor disappears and she can't have that in college classes. Thinking about getting her a new one if I can't figure out how to fix the problem.

The currently available ones with a number pad all have the same problem. I believe it is somwhat fixed in the next generation by offsetting the touch pad to the left a bit but it is still not centered to the space bar and will likely have a similar problem if not to the same extent. They are probably constrained by the width of the screenpad and the ability to accommodate it inside.

I would avoid any of these Zenbooks with a number pad right now unless you really, really needed a number pad for your use and you don't do a lot of long two handed typing (creating documents for example) or prefer using a mouse.

Otherwise, they are good laptops and well built.
