In people's experience, Online articles tend to be all over the places
That sums it up, right there. One of my local places the online price through Grubhub is actually cheaper than the in-store price.

The prices are set by the restaurant, not the delivery services. So they are all over the map on all the delivery services. I personally prefer Grubhub not because they are cheaper but because in my experience their customer services is better. If I have a problem with an order Grubhub is far more willing to give me credit than Doordash. If there is one thing I hate its getting only half my order at twice the twice. So I see it like buying insurance; it's more expensive but I get better protection. .

Could add more than two, but I had to remove the rest to check out.

$15 doesn't cover the fees/markups
with no tip it's not too bad. The fees/markups (I have dashpass through work) is around 30%.

Some restaurants no markup like cheesecake factory. You only pay 5% service fee. If you pickup doordash actually gives you 5% back and no fees so cheesecake factory is already cheaper and then you can stack in 15% gift cards and it is super slick. Also quick and convenient to order from

Not all restaurants mark up the full cut that doordash takes either. That's because doordash increases their business.

Some foods like pho have pretty ridiculous markup on doordash but I think that's because of all the fancy packaging required.

I've found when you have gift card balance on your account you won't get promos. Don't add until you're ready to use.

I don't have that issue. Promos are the same whether you have gift cards or not

keep in mind gift cards don't show up as "gift cards" in your account. They show up as credit and there's many ways you can have credit without buying a gift card.

Doordash now refunds a lot of errors or mistakes as credit instead of to your card. I think this was changed because of how I would abuse promos.

Therefore promos are just as much for good customers as they are people who don't order a lot

What you will find is a lot of the good promos on doordash like $5 off coke zero or whatever there are very specific hours that those are active during the day. You can't order those all day anymore.

Missed all the Summer promos, Decent promos seem to have dried up now(Like don't want promos for fast food and alcohol), so what's the point? How long could they continue to give really good promos to make it worth it?

Excellent deal. Also get 5.25% BofA rewards and it may actually be cheaper to get food delivered than directly ordering and picking up at the restaurant
I would prefer Discover compared to BofA 5.25% as we have better GC redemption options with Discover (5%-20%)

I prefer cash. I don't want to collect or use $2-3K of gift cards per year. But that's not a bad deal. Is 5% discover no limit?

Just beware you can't stack these with the in-app promotions. I stopped buying these for that reason. Many stores have 20% off promos, so sacrificing that for 15% off doesn't make much sense

Interesting. How do you know that adding gift cards turns off promos? If that's the case, I'm never buying/giving another doordash gc.

I've tried it myself. When you check out it'll show you the promo discount, but when you see your receipt after, the promo is gone. I had CS refund me the difference once or twice, but after that they said you can't stack "credit" (gift cards) and promos

Worked for me

I applied the DD gift card on the app. $100 worth of credits were automatically applied.

Used a 20% off promo that i had in the offers and it applied the discount and let me proceed with the order

I always combine discounted DD gift card credit with promos. I've been doing it for years and it's always stacked.
