Check with your car insurance before you pay out of pocket.
Lots of time you can get cracks repaired for free (usually through Safelite).
If you need a replacement, then you would have to cover your deductible, not sure if you could apply this to an insurance claim.
Yikes. So many horror stories from them. They messed up my 2021 xc40 sensors. If you have an old car may be worth it. You're better off going to someone local. Almost every industry guy knows they are the worsr quality.
Worked for me, thanks. My windshield isn't cracked but it's got a hundred tiny chips from gravel impacts that are really distracting when the sun hits them.

100% this! Some states require windshields/glass being fully covered by insurance. CT for a fact that I know of.

Its the of the only good value adds when there is no dedictible.. if you are paying a deductible for glass coverage and you pay over $1500 a year you are getting ripped off
Not sure if the price of windshields went up but if you search locally these replacements are usually around $150.
Edit: Houston, TX
Sounds about right. Safelite is expensive but they come to you to instal it, plus has lifetime warranty. With the coupon would still be double what a local shop would charge.
By the way, chase offers have a10% cash back. Need to activate it.
