Costco sells a bottle with enough for a year. Well, except Leap Year. Then you must suffer a day of sneezies.
Costco on sale comes out to 3cents per pill. This is 2 cents per pill

Quote from flamingonut :
I was a long time user of Zyrtec. Many many years. Skipping a pill for a few days gave me itchy hands. Drove me nuts. Googled and found it was a withdrawl symptom with Zyrtec/cetirizine. My doctor basically said I was crazy. Eventually I did end up switching to Xyzal/levocetirizine, which then I switched over to the generic. Directions say to take at night. One pill and I would wake up exhausted, so I ended up splitting the pills in half, which eliminated the fatigue and still worked for my allergies.

BUT, after even after switching pills, skipping a few days I still get the itchy hands.

Sigh.

Side note: Amazon's generic Xyzal 35 ct was $7 in May, now it's $16. Sigh again.
try natural products for a change. allerplex from standard process worked for me. No, I don't work there or get commisions.

How come zyrtec been charging close to 30 for the same active ingredient
Zyrtec is the brand-name, this is the generic version. As a rule, the brand-name is always significantly more expensive. Why? Because they can.

It makes me pretty sleepy if I try to take it in the daytime, so I take it at night, along with melatonin and it helps to combat my insomnia. Then, in the morning, I take generic Claritin because my seasonal allergies have turned into year-round allergies.
I thought you should take no more than 1 pill per 24 hour since Claritin and Zyrtec work in the same way.

This may be a rare side effect, but my son develops painful urination after taking either Zytrec or Zyzal for more than a week or so. Just something to watch out for.
