Good deal!

For anyone looking for a regular sized circular saw, this is NOT it. This is a smaller circular saw that accepts 5½" blades, not the regular 7¼".
Sorry to say, you are incorrect. I built a 16x20 deck with one of these, no issues. Buy the bigger 4.0+ batteries.
I wouldn't classify these as weak but the saw blade you use makes all the difference in the world. It will do the job with a Diablo blade and might surprise you.

This is a good price since it comes with a carbide blade but only if you need to cut thinner material or 2 x's not at 45's. I recently bought the new brushless Ridgid 6 1/2" circ saw on special deal for $65. Its lighter and far more powerful for those interested in a lightweight saw that can cut 2 x's at a 45. Both 6 1/2" and 7 1/4" circ saw can cut 2 x's at a 45.

Just get the bigger one. This will end up collecting dust. You don't want to grab this and find out it's a bit too short for your project.

And worth mentioning, these are quite weak. They have there use for a quick job without the cord but you likely won't be building a deck with one of these, they bog down easily. The full size brushless one is much better, yet still noticably inferior to a $50 corded one (and cost over 100)

I have even tried with a 6.0ah and still cant easily cut pretty much anything. May be there are several models and I have a lower end one then. I never use mine for that reason, wouldn't recommend it. My dad has the same and he also never use it.

Regular price at HD is $39.99. Purchased this a few weeks ago. I already owned the Ryobi 6.5" corded circular saw but wanted something cheap, light, and portable (cordless) so bought this 5.5". Used it for cutting laminate floors and baseboards (thinner stuff) with 4ah batteries. Has worked really well for me and I appreciate the convenience. You can make STRAIGHT cuts on 2x4s with this also.

If you need to make ANGLE cuts on thicker material, go with 6.5"+. Overall I'm satisfied with this 5.5".

Yes if you only need to do square cuts. I have the older model of this and a Dewalt corded 7.5. Ninety percent of the time I have to do only a few square cuts or I need to move around. I use the cordless because of the convenience. Like others said, I rebuilt a deck with it with no issues. My corded one gets out of the box rarely since I bought the cordless. Almost as often as my corded drill 😊
I'd definitely get one at this price if I didn't have it already (I have Ryobi batteries and several other tools already).

That said, as soon as there is a deal on the brushless 6.5 or 7.5 I'll jump on it and maybe bury the cord forever. I just can't justify the expense now.
