I bought a set of these in the past, still used in the family room, and they work fine, nothing stellar. As for the blue light, it can be fixed fairly easily by unscrewing the bottom and either taping over the light or using some black paint. Takes like a minute to do.

They have been perfect for my younger son's computer. I think the sound is pretty good at low/normal volume. He does not turn them up too loud. He really likes the blue lights. They really are not too bright.

Bought these a year or two ago and absolutely love 'em. Surprised how loud they get, and I like the blue lighting.

I have some like these (Satechi brand). They are perfectly adequate for basic use (you don't expect high quality sound).... I mean sheesh... it's only $10. I may pick up another pair at that price.

Oh, the small size is great too.

But the blue halo on the speakers was indeed annoying. You can open these up and cut the power to the LED... that's what I did... problem solved.

Listen to the audio samples in these reviews and judge for yourself:

According to customer reviews, the USB is only for power and 3.5mm is required for audio, so it's not really meant for devices that lack a headphone jack (I suppose you can use an adapter, but then you will need another USB port or wall adapter to supply power).
I bet the audio quality is just about as good as the speakers I'm using to listen to those clips... πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„

What is the sound quality on those, I mean for the I don't expect much for that price but does anybody actually used them?
Have been using them for work setup. Working great, more than enough what you need for work. I bought them few years ago, wven before they became amazon basics.

The USB is for power only? Then what's the point of computer speakers?

My onboard audio processor is pretty darn good, and I hate power bricks. Those are reasons I would go with this for my desktop over a all usb option.

I'm using it right now for my online classes or meetings. It sounds much better than my laptop's speakers. Don't expect that it sounds as good as high-end pairs; it's good for human voices, but not music.

Reviews say good quality sound but blue LED lights that you can't turn off. I need a pair for the office so that's fine w/ me!
I purchased these a few months ago. Decent sound (especially for the price)…and the blue light (to me) is very dim and non-intrusive. I honestly can't see how anyone can be bothered by them but people find reasons to be bothered with everything so a dim blue light is no different I guess. πŸ˜‰

I have a version of this from the brand Sunyun. I use these for Teams calls and youtube\web stuffs. Sound is great for that. I use a gaming headset for everything else. Like others have said, the blue led is obnoxious. I cut the led leads and all is well. I like the low profile that these have. It lets me set them behind my main monitor so the sound still radiates from below the screen.
