If there's an option to pay directly through eBay and not paypal I'd recommend doing that to be safe. Most of the times these offers rely on being automatically triggered so if the charge shows as paypal it might not trigger or even qualify, even if it's for a ebay transaction.

I was surprised when I tried to purchase some items that American Express was NOT accepted for those items (items didn't have the Amex logo on the page, while other items did). Only Visa, MC, Discover and Paypal were accepted for the items I was going to purchase. May have been like this for a long time, but it will make it harder for me qualify for the $5 Amex cash back.

If you go through weight lifting gloves like I do, I found a pretty good deal on this pair that's normally priced at $25. I grabbed the second to last, so there is only one left. After shipping fee, it'll be around $16 to trigger this deal.
