If there's an option to pay directly through eBay and not paypal I'd recommend doing that to be safe. Most of the times these offers rely on being automatically triggered so if the charge shows as paypal it might not trigger or even qualify, even if it's for a ebay transaction.

I tried to use it on eBay adidas official. However, it did not trigger an email confirmation of offer redeemed. Less likely I will get the $5 back. Sad…

FYI a few weeks back I did not get the email yet I did get the credit on an eBay Hanes deal.

So it doesn't have to be $15+ purchase? It can be three $5 purchases in different days before 12/19 will still get the $5 credit, right?

Happens sometimes for Amex Offers -- it'll disappear for 1-2 days after making a purchase when changing from "saved to card" to "redeemed" (Amex app might show it)

You'll get the credit in 1-2 days
