Just got my pair of motionboom plus and comparing to my motionbooms I'm enjoying these now that I've got them in TWS stereo mode and the EQ tuned. If you have money to burn it's definitely an upgrade but you need to tune the EQ.


I'm pretty good at getting these products tuned to have a JBL soundstage

My settings for my motion boom plus pair are:

+5 +3 -7 -6 -5 -4 0 +1 +2

70 150 300 600 1.2k 2.5k 5k 9k 14khz

And for my motion boom pair:

+5 +3 0 -6 -5 -1 +2 +4 +6

Yes they did. They also updated the firmware, so that it's now quite a bit less harsh at high volumes.
This speaker can NOT be touched by anything in this price or size/weight range. It's extremely loud and has good bass at low-mid volumes. Will crush a JBL Extreme in overall sound if that is important to you.

Yes, the Tribit Stormbox Blast is louder/better, but also weights well over twice as much and is so large it's not even portable for smaller people.

Are you talking about every JBL Extreme? Even the latest one?

Or are you only referring to the first model?

I purchased this a few weeks ago when Amazon had the same price for a day. It's definitely lightweight and portable, but I found the sound to shrill for my liking. I kept it for around a week and sent it back. It does get super loud, though. Bass is just ok, imo.
