I'm pretty good at getting these products tuned to have a JBL soundstage
My settings for my motion boom plus pair are:
+5 +3 -7 -6 -5 -4 0 +1 +2
70 150 300 600 1.2k 2.5k 5k 9k 14khz
And for my motion boom pair:
+5 +3 0 -6 -5 -1 +2 +4 +6
This speaker can NOT be touched by anything in this price or size/weight range. It's extremely loud and has good bass at low-mid volumes. Will crush a JBL Extreme in overall sound if that is important to you.
Yes, the Tribit Stormbox Blast is louder/better, but also weights well over twice as much and is so large it's not even portable for smaller people.

Yes, I have a large collection of bt speakers . The motion boom plus is the best speaker on the market that is easily portable.

The MB+ is easily portable as it can be thrown over your shoulder and carried with ease. It covers the market that is looking for an extremely loud portable party speaker to bring to the beach or other event.

In all seriousness, both of them are great speakers and destroy their JBL/Sony counterparts for 1/2-1/3 of the price!
Tribit Stormbox Blast is 11.6 lbs. If you can't carry that then you need to hit the gym. It's twice as heavy and also twice as good of a speaker. I owned that and this at the same time. This was not even competition and was quickly sent back. If you are in this price range then do yourself a favor and get the Stormbox Blast!
Edit, not sure why this post didn't quote the original question but this is the answer for someone who asked if they can listen to "traditional radio" on this speaker.
Anker Boom+ : $135 80W 5lbs
Tri-Bit StormBox Blast: $160 90W (is that also Peak?) 11.6lbs
I'm not an audiophile, so by the price i'd probably still get the W-King for portability, and like an ION for the yard or camping (seems a lot louder for around $120-150 120w-300w). How is the "sound quality" of the ION speakers in general?

lol....the Motion Boom Plus is like pulling up in your '66 Mustang with a high performance 289. Pretty strong ride. Then some jabroni pulls up on you in a '66 427 Cobra Jet, AKA: Tribit Blast
