For people that say the A71 5G is better, I have been using it and it sucks, seems like the processor is really slow.

if you can get a phone to trade-in for about $300 net TIV (so, an iphone 8 for say, $85 purchase and trade-in for $385), and you're able to get the phone all-in for $200 or under after tax, it's worth the trouble and a good deal.
If you get it for, say $250, it's a decent deal but you may be able to pick it up soon for near that price unlocked and I'd probably pass. So, buying an s10e for like $130, to use an example.
If you have a similar phone laying around, especially a cracked one, it's an absolute no brainer and this is the kind of trade-in opportunity that won't be around much longer imo. I'd jump on like ANY of these cracked screen situations, but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy a cracked/broken device to trade-in.
If you're looking to trade in a phone that fetches $200+ on the open market, however (a nice unlocked iPhone XR+ or another equivalent android phone) then you're probably better off selling it on the open market and looking for something else in the mid-tier range over the next couple months. I'm not exactly sure what but I wouldn't take the chance on the P6a.

I'm torn about this trade in. I think the A71 5G is better than Pixel 6a. I want to wait for another Samsung trade in deal during the holiday season but don;t want to deal with this battery issue.

Personally, even if you are not interested in the 6a, I think it is still better to do the trade in, then sell the 6a once you get it. With the money you get, you can buy an older Samsung S-series which will have much better trade in value than the A71 if you decided to trade it in during holiday season.
Will get 385 for iPhone 8 and get the phone for 104.
I am in Apple ecosystem, so my thinking is that I will surely get more than $104 in future TIV for 6a.
<Verizon is paying $800 for 5a in a recent iPhone 14 Pro TIP>
