Being critical of google doesn't mean they're an apple fanboy... a fair amount of people did seem to have issues with their trade ins. Though I'm sure there are far more that have had theirs go without a problem (I'm in this category).

Agree - title leaves out the tax; the body of the original post clarifies as $65 + tax.

That said - if you live in a state that has no sales tax - you might be able to get it...

Not true. iPhone 8 256gb trade in if screen is not cracked and device powers on is $400 against the pixel 6a device which is $449.99 + tax. Tax varies and is in some states not applicable.

In my case the pixel 6a with tax is $477 minus $400 trade in, comes out to be $77 tax included.

And if you trade in a newer iPhone, you might come close to breaking even and get the pixel for free, sure. How is this relevant? I'm referring to the title of the post here

You are not getting it. Perhaps a different storage configuration was used in ops case for the trade in device. I did not try all of the options ...

also depends what taxes the op considered if any when posting

sales tax depends entirely on the state, and there's some with no sales tax. It could be $65 for some people.
