People who claim that this shoe is soft and comfy are objectively wrong, and probably haven't ever tried a shoe with soft cushioning. Here is a google spreadsheet [google.com] of RunRepeat's midsole softness measurements. Lower is softer. As you can see, the softest On shoe is below the median softness, and On literally has the most firm measured running shoe on record. I know this particular style isn't exactly on the spreadsheet, but when everyone says the cloudmonster is On's softest midsole to date, that's not promising.
Additionally, the runningshoegeeks subreddit pretty much universally pans the On brand for running. Just go there and search the term "cloud". Some indifference around the cloudmonster and universally terrible reviews for every other on shoe
If you're on your feet all day, you can just fall for the medical community's hype around Hokas. Personally, I like brands that don't rely 100% on marketing and actually put out a good product. Brands like Saucony, New Balance, and Asics have some of the best tech in 2022, but they're certainly not your tech bro shoes of choice.
Recommendations: Check out Saucony Triumph 19/20, New Balance Fresh Foam More v3/v4, Asics Novablast 2/3 instead.

I had read about them and a friend of mine used them, so I gave them a try. After my second 5k with them, I noticed my right foot heel hurt a bit. They pain grew the next time. I swapped them out and only wore them for coaching my son's baseball games - same problem developed. I started wearing them for everyday use (they looked cool, after all), figuring I'm walking and not running... and the problem grew a bit worse. I reached out to them - 45 or so days after my purchase - to ask them why I might be feeling pain with their shoes, specifically, and if there was something they could do, and they essentially told me that they had my money, the deal was done, and I was on my own.
I stopped using them all together, but the issue got worse. 8 months (2 of which have been under the care of a podatrist) later, I've stopped running permanantly, switched to biking for cardio, and signficiantly healed up in the present - sticking to my Hokas indefinitely.
If I had known how it'd go, I would have - at the least - swapped out the insole. I didn't realize how flimsy and unsupportive my On stock insole was until it was too late.
Hopefully relating my experience will leave someone else better prepared.
