I bought this earlier this year from another slickdeal post. It was $250 w/o riser but Best Buy was able to price match the one with the riser. I'd give it a shot if youre interested in this as this is an even better deal. All the games work very well. However, even with the riser, it's still about 3 inches or so too short for people 6 feet tall or taller. This is due to the marquee sticking out and the angle of the monitor cutting off visibility to the top part of the screen. Not too big of a deal if you have a stool to sit on or if you wanna hunch over while playing. Also, the control panel is not flush with the side board panels so it's a little uncomfortable if playing for long periods of time and also the trim will begin to wear down. Overall though, i'm very happy with this purchase. It's very nostalgic and i love playing it with my kids. I think i might consider getting one of those ultimate legends ones next if those get discounted.

These are way too short without a riser.......got the Simpsons one for the same price.

That one came with the riser for the same price.

If you have a bunch of 3 to 4 foot kids, this is perfect.....most kids that age could care less about these games. The people buying these machines went to arcades in the 80's and 90's....and most of them are taller than 4 ft.

In conclusion, get one with a riser

No brainer for me. Saw the price, threw my roped-spear at the WalMart site, and said "GET OVER HERE!" $199 + $22 3yr plan + $19 taxes = $240 out the door. FLAWLESS VICTORY for me !!!

Best Buy price-matched RC Willey's price of $249 (w/riser) for this game earlier this year, but they TWICE sold it to me even though it was out of stock both times. Said in stock on the BB website when I bought them while chatting with a BB chat agent. Bought and waited for months. Tired of playing BB's waiting game. Going to cancel my BB order.

Yeah, I know this one doesn't come with a riser. But I do have two washer & dryer pedestals that are just collecting dust in the garage. Thinking about using those as risers. Anybody try that for their A1Ups? Thoughts?

If you're handy with tools, just build one. I ordered one of these but decided to cancel and just build my own arcade cabinet for 4 players with my old PC and a 65 inch TV.
Tell us more of this big screen arcade mystery you are building? Smilie

I'm always up for an adventure LMAO did you follow any guidelines or just wing it?
Wing it. I had to put into consideration the space available in my garage. I wanted 4 players with enough space from each other so no shoulder rubbing. The cabinet is actually a pedestal where I will be able to add a detachable racing seat with a wheel, pedals and shifter. I wanted to add a mini fridge but decided my garage fridge is close enough.

Another option is make a homemade riser. My buddy and I did that. Wasn't too hard, even if lacking on the carpentry skills like us two hooligans.

Yup, I owned the original Arcade 1up MK2 cabinet where it only had 3 games- MK1, MK2, and MK3. I actually liked that cabinet design more because it didn't have the marque sticking out to cut off the visibility of the monitor- it was the exact same build as my SF2 cabinet...

But then I bought this MK Legacy cabinet from Offer Up because it was too good of an offer ($100). I decided to keep the MK Legacy cabinet and sell off my original MK2 cabinet....because even though I like the old MK2 cabinet design more, this Legacy cabinet has more games and the speakers are waaayyy better on this one.

Should've just switched out the inner and sell off the other for $100-200

The one with the riser is $450. A riser only can cost $50-$100 or you can make one.

In conclusion, save money and if you want this cab buy this amazing deal and buy a riser...

Or you can buy a riser or better yet make your own. No need to justify your Simpsons purchase, that's a good deal too. I got the big blue for $350 with the riser and stool I prefer that over these.
