I am not sure about that. Have you tried Harbor Freight? Years ago they had coupons to get them for free. I had them in drawer and my house stays around 40 to 50% humidity year round. In less than a month they were leaking in an unopened package and I had to throw them all away. They were not worth free.

Please stop morally shaming people who buy alkalines for legit reasons. You are not a superior human, you did not earn a badge for this comment.

In store it is 1.59 $
Bought two of AAA and two AA online. Picked them up and returned them. Bought them again and got the clearance price of $1.59 each.

I know better then to trust/use ANYTHING from harbor freight.
Not so. I use their cheapest batteries in my remotes. Carbon zinc never leak and they are free with coupon every now and again. Same batteries you find at the dollar store.

While this is a great price point on these batteries, my experience with rayovac batteries over the last couple of years has been less than stellar. They have leaked in every device I've placed them in. I've switched to energizer and have not experienced this issue with them. If you purchase these, I recommend checking them more frequently than usual to prevent damage from leakage.

Over got a drawer of batteries including HF that is well over 2 years old and no leaks. 60% humidity summer and maybe 40% winter here.

Where do you live? Beachfront or high altitude? Not sure what else could affect that? Only other thing that comes to mind is to keep them in their packaging until use so they don't roll around and touch each other.
Tbh, same here.. it's not often I find leaking batteries anymore and I do it's that one thing I found I haven't seen for years leak. This is regardless of brand because I buy whatever is the cheapest as long as it's labeled alkaline and not "heavy-duty".

Makes me suspicious.. if this is not all part of the whole campaign to shove green down everyone's throat and shame them if they don't swallow and like it.

Leak-gate.

The black and yellow harbor freight batteries are the worst you can buy. I think Project Farm tested them and they were the worst of all the ones he tried. That's why they used to give them to you for free. Can't argue with free though. I used to put them in my wireless keyboard until I ran out of them. They lasted like a month.

Please stop buying alkaline batteries. Rechargeable versions of every common battery type are available and getting cheaper all the time. The only use for these should be putting in an emergency flashlight and leaving them somewhere for several years, where a rechargeable would self-discharge.
why don't you start a crusade to ban Tesla batteries?? Oh you didn't know it takes about 300 barrels of crude to produce 1(one) tesla battery

As long as we still use plastic and transport goods with combustion engines, everything we make consumes crude oil. This is why we should be using longer lasting products, instead of disposable single use garbage. Reduce, reuse, recycle.
