Really good deal considering you rarely see something with zen 3 based ryzen at this price point. That said this is sold by third party with All State insurance. This is probably returned by previous Dell purchase and could have hardware issues. So I am not sure about buying a laptop with those risks. Still if I had not bought Acer refurb(from Acer ) few days ago for $290, I would have seriously considered this.

Got one, thanks!

Posted by Dr.Wajahat and was frontpage'd so must be decent for a 16gb refurb laptop with a better price too.
Been looking for one with 16gb ram for a while with a good price. Thumbsup TU/Repped

Sellers feedback is horrible. Sounds like he just resells returns and knows nothing about the computers. Doesn't respond when defective or wrong, or missing item(power supply). Otherwise the laptop looks great for $425. Great price to get them gone before the new processors start flooding the market

This is a great deal.
Purchased this from the previous deal but it has hardware issues. It worked for a couple of days and then just completely died. It could've been just me but this is the second time I've got no functional junk from eBay sold as refurb. I honestly don't think these are refurbished to manufacturer standards from my experience. Take it for what it's worth but BUYER BEWARE OF EBAY REFURBS!

Haven't used an AMD chip in a long time (not a gamer) so I'm wondering if, or how, these (and newer) AMD laptop chips compete with intel.

I can find some game specs, but it's kind of meaningless to me. Anyone have overall thoughts about +\-'s of the comparison?

Intel has a better known brand name, so they charge more considering that.
CPUs differ in many ways, including thermals and even bugs. But IMHO to the average customer, those aren't material, and what matters is some-unit-of-speed-per-dollar. Measuring that is imperfect and heavily depends on the benchmark and how the computer is being used, but as above, because intel has the brand name recognition, you'll almost always get more speed for your dollar with AMD.

Seems like you are not keeping up with recent (last 2-3 years) chip market, AMD is killing Intel in all benchmarks. AMD has gained significant market share from Intel and look at their stock prices in 2 years.
