Purchased this from the previous deal but it has hardware issues. It worked for a couple of days and then just completely died. It could've been just me but this is the second time I've got no functional junk from eBay sold as refurb. I honestly don't think these are refurbished to manufacturer standards from my experience. Take it for what it's worth but BUYER BEWARE OF EBAY REFURBS!
How does the All State plan work? It needs to be registered?
CPUs differ in many ways, including thermals and even bugs. But IMHO to the average customer, those aren't material, and what matters is some-unit-of-speed-per-dollar. Measuring that is imperfect and heavily depends on the benchmark and how the computer is being used, but as above, because intel has the brand name recognition, you'll almost always get more speed for your dollar with AMD.
I'm not new to this and I'm not against AMD in any way, I just don't know if their newer *laptop* chips keep up. I've seen/read some recent reports that suggest they still have a ways to go, but it's usually best to hear from people that are actually using one/them/etc.
There's always the game of specmanship which is useless in the real world (e.g., people think PCIe SSDs are so much faster than SATA due to reading specs. It's been nonsense for years unless you're copying files and most people can't actually tell them apart; heck, even I can't tell them apart in daily tasks. LOL Gen 5 could definitely change that, but that's a different hypothetical discussion).
BTW - I'm a huge supporter (conceptually) of what AMD is doing. Intel has been selling tiny performance increments (?) for decades simply because they could get away with it. We don't need more chip "binning"

very true, really wish dell had a psref spec listing like Lenovo.

I wasn't sure about the AMD processor, I loath Windows 11 (a real steaming POS in case you haven't used it) and it got so-so reviews possibly due to a bad wifi driver (my guess is that's why there's so many "like new" refurbs), but if anyone wants a new one...

My intel laptop cpu's never had issues as much as the AMD laptop cpu's (all the issues I remember with thermals were related to HP/AMD and some other brands combined with AMD cpu's.)
The issues with the AMD laptop cpu's were so bad that the GPU would stop working, things would de-solder from the excess heat. Horror stories, for real.
Found it... Gen 3, which is surprising for a new laptop.
