Deep Blue is a legitimate, albeit small brand: https://wornandwound.com/review/d...ba-review/

They use Seiko and Miyota (Citizen) movements. So they should be reliable. Between them and Orient, you can't go wrong with either.

I wouldn't touch Deep Blue anymore. In the past I've enjoyed their watches, but last year I got a Tritdiver 41 that had its bezel fall off the first day I got it. Sent it in for service in November of last year. I cannot get ANY answers of where my watch is. They always say they'll call me back, but never do.

I do not know about this. I would rather get an Orient at this price point

For $50 more you can get a Seiko 5 sports with metal bracelet at Macys right now.

My dad spent 40 years fixing different watches, and he always wore Orient or Seiko. Can't go wrong with either one. Deep Blue is a legit company on the cheaper end. But expect 20+ years of life out of them. Solid movement and you get a great deal for $169.
I wish this had been my experience. I had two Seiko automatics and both died. Seiko refused to warranty. So I bought a Tissot and have been 100% satisfied. Wife just got me an Omega Speedmaster for our anniversary so I'm moving up in the watch world but I'll never buy another Seiko.

This seems like a nice watch but personally, I like solar watches like Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster Diver (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/produ...UTF8&th=1) which I got for about the same price when it was on sale at Amazon. Automatic watches can be off by a few minutes in a month. I've had this watch for a couple of months and I just checked it on https://time.is/ and it's the exact time to the second. Also, powered by ANY light.

Anyone have servicing done on an auto watch in this price range?
Is it worth doing or 'wear it til it wears out'?

I actually own the 43mm of this watch & love it. Sits a little tall at 15mm but awesome tritium watch.

Had a similar experience. Got a watch. Wore the hell out of it. Had to have it serviced twice because the case wouldn't seal. I had to threaten postal fraud and then it magically wound up back at my doorstep repaired. Beautiful watch but afraid to wear it now.

I purchased a Deep Blue NATO Diver 300 as my first automatic watch back in 2018. I didn't know anything about watches but this seemed to check off a lot of boxes. Little did I know that a 44mm watch with a 51mm lug to lug was not a great sized watch for my 6.25" wrist. I still have the watch although I hardly ever wear it now. For what it's worth, I've never had any issues with it. The crown screws in and out extremely smoothly (better than my Orient Mako USA II), has been very accurate and pretty good looking. Only other con besides the size is the lume. If you have the wrist to pull off these larger watches, they're solid pieces.

I would get this over that Tissot any day of the week.
Tissot has a well earned reputation for quality and that can't be said for Blue.

Quality isn't the concern here. They are both good quality. Japan movements are as good as Swiss movements. It is entirely the price. One is very overpriced, one is not.

Peace I always wondered why Seiko doesn't use sapphire crystals (except GS line). I think they'd up their brand a notch if they did.

I've installed sapphire crystals to a few of my Seikos. https://usa.crystaltimes.net/?s=seiko
