You forced me spend 2K. The uhz45 deal was too good to pass up.
It's too new to find reviews, but trust me, I've researched this obsessively for the last month. It's a brighter version of the Uhz50 with a little less placement flexibility. If you can position it properly in your room, it's going to blow the Benq x3000i out of the water and now with this sale it costs the same.

Are these actual 4k laser projectors? Why are most 4k laser projectors $4k or more and these are so much less?
EDIT: seems all laser projectors in this price range are not true 4k, but rather use some kind of pixel shifting technology to achieve psuedo-4k. That doesn't make this a bad deal on the uhz45.

There is no projector under $5K that doesn't use pixel shifting. From all reports, "true" 4K doesn't make much difference. These Optomas still have 8 million individually addressable pixels, they just don't display them all at once. The pixels shift so rapidly, the human eye can't notice.
Now a $10K projector is of course going to look nicer, but that's more due to superior optics, better calibration, more contrast, and deeper blacks not because it's true 4K.
Anyways, if you were looking at the Benq x3000i I'd consider jumping on this uhz45 deal. It's free returns so no risk if you don't like it.

I have the Benq x3000i and I compared it to the UHZ45 I dont see anything that "blows it out of the water" looks to be pretty identical in specs just different form factors.
UHZ45 has more lumens so it will be better in pure daylight viewing than the Benq depending on screen size, the advantage of the Benq is better zoom lens so can be closer to the wall to generate 100" image over the optoma which would have to be further back.
The contrast is meaningless until its tested, while the UHZ45 does not seem to have any mention of 100% DCI-P3 CinematicColor.
The input lag is a wash between the two projectors so thats nice.
Finally the speakers are better on the UHZ45 10watt vs 5 watt speakers.

The Optoma is a lot brighter, especially if you enable the 100% dci-p3 option on the BenQ which will cut it's brightness by half.
Optoma is also a laser so cooler and so will run quieter with less energy.
This is basically the Uhz50 with a less flexible lens (no lense shift, longer throw). The Uhz50 has better contrast then the BenQ and all the reviews I've read remark that the BenQ doesn't have great blacks.
If the uhz45 is similar to the uhz50, it will have better blacks and contrast then the x3000i.
Worst case and it loses some contrast, it will be no worse then the x3000i and probably twice as bright after calibration.

For those that got this deal how is the UHZ45? I have a hd141x that is in desperate need of an upgrade and have narrowed it down to that one I think. Gonna wait for the next deal.

A little less placement flexibility? It's only got no vertical shift and only a 1.1x zoom (vs 1.3x on the UHZ50 and X3000i). I downloaded the manual to confirm this because I couldn't believe it, but it's correct. The UHZ50's placement flexibility was already very meager.
Use a throw distance calculator to make damn sure you can use the UHZ45 before ordering it. Because it needs to be at an exact height and within about a 1-2 ft distance window from your screen to work. https://www.projectorcentral.com/...or-pro.htm
On the plus side, it does look like it's brighter, and all three HDMI ports get access to the projector's full features. Most of the UHZ50's functionality is limited to HDMI1, while HDMI2 is less capable. Not a problem for me since I run everything through an AV receiver, but it may be an issue if you plug multiple devices directly to the projector.
Both use the same 1080p TI DLP chip, with pixel shifting to achieve 4k. I am... skeptical of the increased brightness since the power consumption of both the UHZ50 and UHZ45 is rated at 240 Watts at max brightness. Unless they've switched to using LED lasers with 27% higher efficiency (which would be a massive improvement), I doubt brightness has increased from 3000 lumens to 3800 lumens as per the specs for identical image quality. They may have just made the white segment of the color wheel bigger, sacrificing color saturation to increase brightness. FWIW the Benq X3000i is rated at 330 Watts, so I suspect it is still brighter at like-for-like color saturation.
Edit: Ignore my last comment on the X3000i. I mistakenly thought it was a laser LED projector. It is just LED, so the power consumption vs brightness is not comparable.
