Spec wise no. Highly outdated.
Its also a refurb, and ebay, which means a total crapshoot.

The Surface line though, usually has higher quality components than normal laptops, so there is that. But, at the end of the day, better laptops can be found, new, for not a lot more.
Ah, another one of your kinds.
Please do us a favor and walk the talk. Kindly provide us the links to those "But, at the end of the day, better laptops can be found, new, for not a lot more". Show us these new laptops under $300 that have a 300+ nits 90+% sRGB touch screen, robust build quality, and long battery life (and even WiFi 6 and BT 5.0), to name a few.

We all are waiting.

10th gen is fine and this has the ram and ssd space that makes it good as a light use laptop. Note the screen resolution... it's not full 1080p which may impact video clarity.

1. It's not the 5th Gen, it's the 10th Gen which came out 2 years ago.
2. Idk if you're aware of the resolution and screen ratio. This is a 3:2 and not a 16:9, you get 1080p on the latter. The resolution would be perfectly fine, except that you'd get black bars at the top and bottom when playing any video because of the screen ratio.

My bad I typed 5 bc of the i5. It may be older but it's still serviceable for the money. The main weak point is the igpu which got a big boost in the 11th gen chips.

Not 300+ nits display but better in every other way. Wifi card is also upgradeable if you want newer wifi/bluetooth standards. (surface laptop is not upgradeable)

1920x1080 touch vs 1536 x 1024. touch
256GB vs 128GB
Significantly more powerful 11gen CPU. vs 10th gen low power CPU
Backlit keyboard vs non backlit
Upgradeable RAM vs non-upgradeable
Spot for a second SSD vs no second SSD
Brand new vs "refurbished"
Knew someone would post this one.
A splendid deal, no denying that. However, it's expired now and no idea when it would come back again.

Also, way to go linking/comparing a 15.6" laptop with a 12-13" one. They can't be compared on that factor alone.

It's been a long time since I had a math class and maybe I'm rusty, but I don't see $297 for this. Linked eBay listing is $370, with a 15% off coupon comes to $314ish.

It's probably a mistake for me to jump in on the pissing match about this deal, but as someone who is interested in this device, I'll note that this is a fairly unique device ... small/light, excellent build quality, excellent display, 3:2 aspect ratio. There are plenty of great laptops out there, and some with better overall specs than this one and at a similar price, but if -- like me -- you care about the things that this laptop uniquely provides, there's almost nothing else on offer. OTOH, if you don't care about those things, then by all means don't buy this device and get one that is more in line with your interests.

Besides size difference, Vivo has ~60% sRGB screen where as Surface is close to 100%
