These earbuds are incredibly good. When I ordered from Secondipity a few months ago they were about $115 and I have LOVED them.

FYI they will come in some pretty crappy packaging, but I stopped caring about the packaging as soon as they were connected.

I use these during Ketamine treatments for ptsd where any outside noise can be really disturbing, so noise canceling is massively important, and these block out a ton. Not 100% (none do) but so much that it's a "wow" every time I'm in a noisy place (recently an airplane with a crying baby 1 seat ahead) and activate noise canceling.

Also, I used to use the Sony xm4 headphones, but had a problem where they stopped charging. Dealing with Allstate/Squaretrade was a piece of cake. They refunded every penny after two years of consyant use within a week of sending them in for repair.

In short, I'd buy these again in a heartbeat.

The M4's are better than the 3's, they are more comfortable and the original ear tips are better than the M3's and even better than comply tips in my opinion. The M4's are my daily, I got the spigen case and use a #2 S beaner clipped to my belt loop and have never lost or misplaced them. The only thing better is over the ear headphones so for my use at work, errands, and around the house these are awesome. If you don't like them there is still a 30 day return window (but you pay shipping). I bet you won't return them tho.

I am using this in the office right now and I've toggled back and forth between ambient sound and noise cancelling and I can still hear folks from 8 feet way clicking on their mouse. Essentially, noise canceling isn't doing much for me.
So, did I get a dud or am I not setting these up correctly?
Make sure you have a good fit. Go through the tip fitting in the app and confirm you have a seal. When mine came they had the large tips on them and I could not get them to stick in my ears. I went to medium and got a seal. I tried small and there was no seal. So medium for me.

Since these have foam tips they are different than just about every other earbud I have used.

A tip with putting these in along with making sure you have the right tip, is to press the tips so the foam condenses, then put in your ears quickly so that the foam will go further into the canal.

I have a mechanical keyboard with brown switches and I can barely hear when I'm typing on it with my head maybe 18 inches away.

Review of these after trying many many other earbuds.

ANC is the best of the best I have tried. I have not tried Bose Quiet Comfort series but from reviews I read, that might be the only one better.

Next for ANC is Galaxy Buds Pro 2. These are a good middle of the road choice for very good ANC, and very good comfort.

Next for ANC is LG Tone Free T90. These are my most comfortable ear buds, but not great ANC. I would wear these all day long if I didn't care about the ANC.

That said, after wearing these for a good portion of the day, I'm definitely having ear strain. They are for the most part comfortable and are not coming out of my ears by falling out, but I have ear strain that I don't have with either the Galaxy Buds Pro 2 or the LG Tone Free T90 earbuds.

I just bought these which will arrive tomorrow to see if it helps with the ear strain.

Returning mine as well. The left earbud of mine had a noticeable hum, like the sound of a low wind, in both the noise cancelling and ambient mode. Paired with different devices and even tried a factory reset, but the issue still persisted.
I ended up with a bad pair as well. Left would drain in about 18 minutes. Right was on course for 3/4 hours.

You're not the only one. I've tried everything to get them to work. I got a pair of duds too.

I just got them, and they look like new. The noise cancelling is pretty good. The only problem I see is the ear tips are consumable, and if I need to change them every month and they cost 5 dollars, the cost goes up so it may be better to just get the air pod pro 2 for better noise cancelling. I am still using Bose qc20 for 2 years, and have never changed the ear tip, and they are completely fine

Edited
I found some old silicone tips, and they fit. Sound was a bit unacceptable, so I cut up some earplugs to fill up the inner part of the ear tips, and it is good enough now.
I use these replacement foam tips [amazon.com] with my XM4's and they fit perfectly without impacting sound quality. They don't break the bank either.

Same here. The tips had earwax on them - it's quite bad that they repackage the tips. I removed the tips and wiped down the buds with isopropyl alcohol. Will buy the comply tips from Amazon.

I got mine and tried them out. The noise cancelling didn't work at all. I tried all of the troubleshooting on the sony website and the help manual but there was zero discernable difference with anc on or off. Couple that with the fact that, for me, they were hideously uncomfortable in my ear, I sent them back. I guess I have narrow ear canals that are too narrow and too angled because even with the smallest sponge, it felt like they were the jaws of life trying to extract my brain. Back they go.

On a side note, I have some older, corded, bose ANC earbuds. The "small" silicone ear inserts are amazingly comfortable and anc on/off is remarkably different. I was hoping these sony's were at least close but no chance. I'm going to watch for a deal on cordless bose ones as they seem to fit my ears better.

Those looked interesting, and helped me to find what I ended up buying. https://www.amazon.com/SONICFOAM-...th=1&psc=1

I have the Bose corded ones too., the qc20's, and actually the noise blocking is better on the Sony. The Bose has a louder static noise when cancelling is turned on so you know it is on. You can tell with the Sony by running a faucet, or the vent in the kitchen and toggling on/off. The Sony blocks better. The only thing is when eating, the Sony is a bit too harsh and loud, so I have to use the Bose, or pull the Sony ear tips out so it doesn't seal.

The noise blocking is a combination of ANC plus the tip type if it is foam or silicone.

Unfortunately the corded Bose is discontinued and all the ones they sell on ebay are fakes.

I tried using these again in a crowded mall. I was surprised at how effective the noise canceling was in this environment. I still do think that there are times when the noise canceling does not work and it needs to be re-powered.
That and the heaviness/uncomfortable fit in my right ear is making me wonder if i should return.

Thanks for the information. I did walk around the house and try them on/off. It's pretty busy here and there is a TV in the background, people talking, and general other noises and I truly couldn't tell any difference whatsoever with it on/off. I checked with the app to make sure it was on and not in some kind of activity bypass. I think I just got a pair that shouldn't have escaped back into the wild as they had not actually been refurbished/tested. That said, I should have checked the tip material before I ordered. I have tried many, many headphones on the market over the years and every type of foam I have tried has been uncomfortable/itchy to me. For the longest time I used only over the ear types with leather to avoid the itch. Airpod pros are fine to me thought they don't seal very well and they don't work well with PC applications like Teams.

I'd like to try the Bose wireless ones and see how they compare. They have exchangeable "wings" to keep them stable and silicone tips. I'm not all that concerned about how much noise blocking they do relative to each other as any "quality" set will do it well enough to meet my needs which is just cut the background a bit while I'm on a conference call. For those of you that like the foam tips, more power to you. I suspect I might have an allergy to foam.

There's only a few models that surpass these in terms of ANC, and they're all newer - iirc Bose quietcomfort ii and AirPods Pro 2. Plenty of graphs out there from professional reviewers that prove just how effective the ANC is… if you aren't just trolling, then you definitely need to figure out how to insert them properly if the ANC is genuinely that subpar for you, because there's no way it actually is
probably you are right, but I found them too big coming from google buds. Yes, google buds pro are big, but they some how fit inside the ears and feel way lighter.
Even the case for Sony is so big that it is not practical to carry them everywhere - that is a deal breaker for me.
