Among many other compatible types, it claims "Toyota WS".

I recently searched for Toyota WS fluid on Amazon, and only got Idemitsu and Toyota branded fluids. The "better" price was Idemitsu at nearly $50 for 5 quarts. I will probably only need 3 quarts, so this would have been a much better deal.

I don't feel that $50 every 5 years or 60K miles is super painful, but... Now I know.

EDIT: And thanks, OP!

Funny you mention Toyota WS fluid... I been doing LOTS of reasearch on it and it seems really not that special. There are LOTS of reviews and feedback that This MaxLife transmission fluid is just as good or better. That is why I was looking around for best price on this and found Walmart/Amazon has the best price.

Until a few months ago, this was $17.97 for a gal. I'm surprised the qt price almost matches it.

Am actually in the market for a bunch of this ATF as it fits all 3 of my cars ..... Both stores seem to be dead. Found 3 qts at a single Walmart nearby but they said they ran out and substituted a lesser fluid. Amazon looked good and listed at $4.74 but when I tried to pick one of the many buying options, the cheapest is now $8+.

Was a great deal tho

I think that price was for NON synthetic, that's all I've been able to find under $20

Bought 12. Free delivery over $35. No problem in Toyota (WS) and Honda (Z1) over 270K miles. Change the AFT every 30K miles. If you have more than 100K and have not changed fluid in your Toyota or Honda, then drain 1 QT and add 1 QT. Drive 5K miles and repeat 3-5x. This will allow the transmission to acclimate to the new fluid coefficient of friction. Too much new fluid could cause the transmission to slip.

Agreed. Toyota's WS isn't great and likely isn't full synthetic. Given commentary on bitog. MaxLife is probably the best bet. I put this in my 5th gen 4runner with 70k on the clock and the original "lifetime" OEM fill was nearly black. I'll do 40k to 50k going forward of this superior WS-spec fluid.

in my Volvo V70 @ 139k miles. Fixed upshift and downshift problems. Loving it!

Now planning on using it to replace the black "lifetime" fluid in my used Rav4 with 153k miles.
Too bad the price jumped from $18 to $26 now.
