My orchids have bloomed 6 times in 2 years using this light from Amazon:
Juhefa LED Grow Lights, Full Spectrum Grow Lamp with IR & UV LED Plant Lights for Indoor Plants,Micro Greens,Clones,Succulents,Seedlings,Panel Size 12x4.7 inch

But then the light died.

For seed and veg only. For buds or fruiting plants you're going to want something more intense and considerably "warmer". (Really Pot plants will give you their damnedest no matter what sort of light/environment you give them so you will probably get a few nugs if that's all you're looking for)

Build a miniature, makeshift greenhouse? Hang up foam insulation on the walls and wedge it in place with furniture? Cover air leaks?

It'd have to be pretty dang cold for plants not to thrive though, especially under a grow light

Try heated mats. I use a no-name one for sprouting seeds. It does need extra stuff like a thermometer circuit but it's cheap enough and some nurseries use this kind of system in large scale.

If you run enough lights in a room (and keep the door closed) you might not have to worry about cold. In Arizona, I have a problem in the summer with my complex's AC not being able to compensate for the heat from just 5 4-foot purple strips. In fact, I can't keep the bedroom door closed because the temperature will climb over 100F inside. And during winter when I add a couple hanging box fixtures, the room can reach that temperature during winter. I actually got a couple grow tents for reviews but never use them because venting to outside would let too much heat into the tent in addition to the fixtures. My recommendation if you do invest in a tent is to set the vent like a chimney inside to allow that added heat (inefficient energy loss) to heat your room too.

If anyone knows of drivers that are much less inefficient and cooler burning and that come in fixtures under $100, please message me. I have to use indoor lighting during both winter and summer, and I soon will be paying my individual electricity bill 💸

I don't think that it is bad luck, bought 4 Sylvania smart bulbs, all died in various ways in a year. In the basement. Which I rarely go into.

Don't even consider this if you're serious about growing anything. Too weak to consider this even life support let alone sprout anything.

5000-6500k shop light on a rack and you'll sprout anything you want. Different plant stage requires use of a certain light spectrum , use Google.

Plants grow more in the dark after exposed to light sources. No need to have it exposed for 16 hours like the manufacturer says. They just want their junk bulb to die like users already mentioned.

No worries on a cold apartment. Most plants do well at room and cooler temps. Just think about where your plants originated from.

Agreed, I've used GE's BR30 bulb because it was cheap, it puts out 16ppf of light compared to their PAR38 bulbs which put out 50. I use 7 of the PAR38s in a closet to grow all kinds of (legal) fruits and veggies and herbs. A 16ppf bulb just isn't powerful enough.
