Wish this set was available in Nov 2020 when I bought the Reference version for $1099 lol. Would have saved me a ton of money in the long run.

Super solid set for the price.

This is it. For a couple hundred over the reference 7.1, it is an absolute no brainer...unreal price, in for one. Thanks OP, this was the last piece I needed to complete the home theater

If the center was a 450C and the sub was 12" this would check every single box. Anything larger would definitely warrant a price increase. Quiet as kept, the 450C (not 404C) & 504C are basically identical.

It depends on your use and the size of the room. Some people will need to upgrade it to something larger. Many people will want to upgrade it to something larger.

Yes, or you can go with the Denon on costco, better option I think only $100 difference.

Great deal for someone looking to set up their whole room in one go. These are all prior flagship (reference premiere) series models. This is $50 cheaper than the last deal and comes with a sub.

Extremely sensitive speakers and 8 ohms. The weakest receiver can power this with ease

Just bought this set! I had originally planned on doing the full Costco build — Onkyo/Denon Rec, Reference 5.0.2 Pack, and a 12SW sub, but for the ~$230 difference this, plus the Denon S760H 7.2 from Costco, seemed like the way to go. I had already picked up a 12SW sub from Costco on sale, so I'll try running both subs for a 5.2.2 setup, and then run it with just the SPL-100 and see if it's worth it to return the 12SW or keep both.

I was a little worried about running the RP-280FA's (150W cont) with the Costco receiver since they're rated at 75W per channel, but it seems like from what I've read it should be okay. If anyone has better knowledge on this, I would love to hear your thoughts.

klipsch speakers are super easy to power... the 150w continuous i likely rating of the driver... at that power, it would shatter windows... that's how easy they are to drive...

If you are basing this on their published sensitivity ratings, you should know that they typically measure theirs differently than other brands, showing extra room gain benefit. Klipsch typically aren't any more sensitive than other brands. https://audiosciencereview.com/fo...red.14072/
