Oatmeal and a couple versions of tried soup? Seems pricey??
I see you don't understand any of the core assumptions about when this food is meant to be used for
Can't I just buy a cylinder of quakers oatmeal and vacuum seal it? It would suck, but that would likely last me longer than 3 days.

Yeah, ive seen those but I'd be curious to see a for profit company that sold these and how well the product stays true to claims.

Has anyone ever actually had to use one of these?

In a real emergency?

Preppers tend to "prepare" for your scenario with various home protection methods taking in to account your actions with some well thought out approaches. Not sure you have as successful strategy as you think you do.

Every prepper family has a weak link. You just need the one.

Apparently you've never heard of something called a "natural disaster" or grid failure. Texas last year during the ice storms? Places like Florida during hurricanes? California during earthquakes.

B-b-b-but I'll just doordash my food like always. People who can't think critically always crack me up.

The Texas ice storm power outage wasnt a natural disaster.... That was completely man made given the fact that none of the energy infrastructure was rated for cold weather.

beans and brown rice will keep you alive for pretty much forever

One thing to note, brown rice will go rancid due to the oil in the bran. White rice will last longer.

clean water is the most important.
How do you cook these if you don't have clean water?

Simple. Have water storage and various ways to purify water from filters to distillers. But yes, people take water for granted. Look up "Rule of 3's".

I have a hard time believing someone will go from 'doordash all meals' to 'hide a 25yr SHTF bucket in my closet'. Who doesnt keep some oatmeal, rice, soup, etc in their home? Just buy that stuff and eat like a normal person and keep enough in your cupboard for a few extra days. The problem with a person who has the 'doordash all meals' mentality stretch FAR beyond just surviving a disaster.

Tldr: if you don't have anything better than this, go ahead and buy one or two and move on with life.

Ok, so acknowledged that this is not the best way to prepare for a short duration interruption of supplies - but it is certainly easy. As in "tape a Sawyer filter to the side and shove in the back of the closet to be way better off when something unexpected happens" level of easy. Yes, buying staples in bulk and then actually eating through that bulk food so that you have a rotating stock makes great financial sense. Yes, that is better prep for snowstorms or earthquakes or the like, but for someone who has not done that or who is at a stage in life where they cannot, this isn't a terrible way to spend $25. Is it the best thing ever? No. But it is a fairly good price on something that has a better than average value( cals/cent) in the prepackaged storage food category.

Door dash is about convenient food, and conveniently- so is this. The best prep for anything is the prep you already did, and this is super easy, perhaps even easier than having a lukewarm cheeseburger delivered and you can forget about it until the next time that you suddenly can't buy the stuff you normally keep in the pantry.
