I am hesitant to pull the trigger on this promo. The trade in device is the "Galaxy S21," not the "Galaxy S21 5G." If you look at several other models, they have 5G and non-5G variants. For example, there's a "Galaxy S20" and a "Galaxy S20 5G." For whatever reason, the trade in value of the non-5G S20 is significantly higher than the 5G variant. I am concerned that the trade in will be deemed a different model if I send them an S21 5G. Does anyone have any insight into this?

Their is no "S21 4G" - all S21 variants are 5G. You needn't worry.

The same is true of the S20, save for some international models (also true of the S21). That being the case, why do so many exclusively 5G phones have non-5G variants listed under trade ins?

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for the esim question since I have never done it myself on Google Fi.

However, I know people who ordered phones from Google Fi usually just activate the Google Fi service, then immediately replace the Google Fi with their own carrier sim after that since the phone is unlocked.

This works because the promotion terms only required you to activate the phone on Google Fi and keep the service active for 4 months. Basically, as long as you pay for 4 months (either with Google Fi credit or with your credit card), they don't care whether you make call/text or use the data at all. The only thing you cannot do is to put the Google Fi sim to another phone because that will associate your account to a different imei, which violated the promotion term that required 120 days consecutive service on the phone.
I have done it three times so far using Fi flexible plan (2 S22s on the current promotion and 1 S20 last year) without any issue. Just leave the FI Sim in a drawer and never put it in another phone. For the Fi phone, you can use it on any network.

I am wondering the same. I asked this question in another S22 Google Fi thread, and there is no answer. Thinking to buy a refurbished S21 with excellent condition from ebay for this promotion, but now I am not sure if I should do itSmilie.

you also need to do it from 4 different google accounts. Once you order and activate 1, you won't be able to activate others. The terms state the phone should be activated on the same account that orders.

What if I order another phone like S22 that is even lower in price? Will I still get my full $625 credit card refund?

Ok, so I am a Tmobile customer right now. I have no real interest in using Google Fi, what are my steps here?

My tmobile sims are in s21 of which I have 2, but I need to keep the new s22s active? What do I do with my tmobile sims?

The TIV is too good to pass up, someone please help this newbie out do this as seamlessly and cost efficiently as possible

or is number porting my only option?
