Seem to be the coldest months of the year for Japan. I'm Thinking about doing end of Feb into March
That's a good time, mid to late March you can catch Sakura season if you're into that and the weather is generally decent.

It's there, you can change it on their website, to USD.

If you go mid Feb, you'll catch early blossoms. There are many winter festivals in February, also. You should be able to find many info about it.

I've flown both, they have great service and ok leg room. But I generally find 33 is still cramped for long flights though it is best in class.
Just FYI for ZIPAir

ZIPAIR Tokyo is Japan Airlines' low cost international brand. A few differences between ZIPAIR Tokyo and Japan Air:
ZIPAIR Tokyo configure their Boeing 787 in 3 x 3 x 3 seating configuration vs Japan Air's 2 x 4 x 2 seating configuration
ZIPAIR Tokyo's legroom is 31β€³ vs Japan Air's 33β€³ – 34β€³
ZIPAIR does not include anything with the fare besides the seat – everything is extra from carry-on, seat assignment and checked luggage. This will range from anywhere between $45 and $130 each way depending the options you pick.

But price is still better than other airlines even if you add on bags/seat assignment etc. But legroom could be an issue for some.

Independent travelers only? How about those who are dependents?

Do better, mods!
Really??? If you knew what Japan's government's requirements were then you'd know that "independent" travelers mean.

Independent traveler as opposed to group tour with a tour operator.

Are you for real? did you really get offended AT THAT???

I can second that February is a good time to go, although it will be quite chilly. My wife and I go every few years in February because we prefer the cold and it isn't as crowded at the tourist attractions at this time. The last time we went was 2019 (mid February) and there was still snow scattered around the streets of Tokyo. It was not unbearably cold but definitely want to make sure you have good shoes and a thicker jacket.

The trains are equipped with heaters that will warm you back up quickly. But there are only a few things more satisfying than eating a steaming hot bowl of ramen after exploring in the cold.

We are working out dates and hoping to go the third week of February!

That is OK Serra, I'm guessing that person have not read the official statement from Japan, ignorance is not bliss in this situation.

Going back on topic, i will be in Japan the day they open Oct 11 and i will report back and let you guys know how it is.
