I haven't seen the x14 with 12th gen i7 and RTX 3060 anywhere close to $1200 before. Even brand new at $1600 seems like a solid deal. Deal ends tonight.

You've seen a 14" gaming laptop with 12th gen i7 and at least RTX 3060 for under $1200?

Being able to charge your laptop via USB C is underrated. And this is the thinnest 14" gaming laptop for anyone who cares.

What do you think a good price would be? In every review the major con for this laptop is cost. Slashing it down $700 brings it into range with Asus Zephyr 14. The X14 has better build quality, software, and has an Intel 12th gen processor. Keyboard is better and thermals are better too. Remember this laptop is in the Thin and Light category. It weighs under 4 lbs. Only other laptop in this class is the Razer Stealth 14" which is $1900 MSRP for a build with comparable specs. Again also AMD. Some people need thunderbolt 4 and the X14 is the only laptop in its class that supports it.

Pure specs, yes, but the compact gaming ones like 14 usually carry a price premium over larger 15.6/16/17

Also some others like Asus TUF's build quality and design isn't even close to AW's X series. It's like comparing a Toyota Camry with Lexus ES just because they have same engine and trans…

And btw why do you think there is open box option? People don't like it and returned. The deal is still on and nobody pulled the trigger, another prove that the market is not appreciating this price.

No the comparison is for gaming laptops in general. I do prefer bigger screen and the light weight really doesn't matter to me. For the same reason I don't buy the special colored video cards for 500 bucks more or special edition motherboards. The price maybe not bad for this specific model however its not something what a good price performance ratio. Also not to forget while this is now current generation it wont be long for Intel's 13gen cpus and I have the feeling that laptop gpu's 4060 hit the market before the desktop gpu's, but remains to be seen.

My comment was towards the price / performance for a gaming laptop.

Okay why even comment that? Having a bigger screen is your preference. Doesn't have any impact on whether this deal is slick or not. This deal and this laptop should be judged against other laptops in the same class.

This is a far better Asus Zephyrus G14 for $200 more, which I've seen for as low as $1000.

Personally, I'm going with this because it's easy to pack away for travel, I can use it's charger (130W USB C) for my work laptop, cell phone, and itself. Quiet mode gives me control of how to throttle the laptop when you want to pull it out for casual use. So I can keept it quiet when I use it in bed then I can throw it in high performance for gaming. Works with thunderbolt docks and eGPUs if you need extra juice or connectivity. It's the perfect easy to carry laptop for anyone wanting to do some light machine learning, coding, or other productivity tasks. Easily worth the extra $200 and that's not even considering the X14s far superior build quality.

I'm not here to have a conversation with you about your and my preference on laptops. I'm not going to continue arguing over a deal which really isn't one for me. I hope you know that OPEN BOX comes with few down sides too. So enjoy the rest of day and good is.

$1k would be nice, but not going to happen while the inferior Asus Zephyrus G14 sells for $1k at the lowest. Alienware X14 is better, but by how much? IMO at least $200.

Better thermals, better build quality, far thinner, Intel instead of AMD.

It takes a bit of configuration to keep the laptop quiet depending on your use. I'm guessing that is a major turn off for some people, fans are loud! (Fans are louder on G14).

Yeah I mean as the poster of this deal it's my job to defend the slickness of the deal. Not sure what you expected from me when you come in saying it's not a good deal.

Frankly it's pretty damn easy to see if this is a good deal or not. There's only 3 viable options for people looking for a 14" thin and light gaming laptop with current gen processor and at least RTX 3060. Alienware X14, Asus Zephyr G14, and Razer Stealth 14. X14 is the only option with a current gen Intel processor. It happens to be $700 off right now for the first time ever. Considering Asus Zephyrus at $1000 is a slick deal, the upgrades on this machine are at least arguably worth the extra $200. We're talking better CPU performance, better keyboard and touchpad, better build quality, TB4 ports. I'd say this is a pretty slick deal.

To be clear I think the G14 is an awesome machine and at $1000 is a great deal. Also, for the general public I think a Stealth 14 at $1200 is a slicker deal than this. Just personally TB4 ports are invaluable and I've never seen the stealth go that low.

Yeah I don't know what's wrong with people. This is the first Alienware X14 post on Slickdeals and it's $715 off MSRP, but the post is in the negatives because ???
