Being able to charge your laptop via USB C is underrated. And this is the thinnest 14" gaming laptop for anyone who cares.
Also some others like Asus TUF's build quality and design isn't even close to AW's X series. It's like comparing a Toyota Camry with Lexus ES just because they have same engine and transā¦
And btw why do you think there is open box option? People don't like it and returned. The deal is still on and nobody pulled the trigger, another prove that the market is not appreciating this price.

My comment was towards the price / performance for a gaming laptop.

This is a far better Asus Zephyrus G14 for $200 more, which I've seen for as low as $1000.
Personally, I'm going with this because it's easy to pack away for travel, I can use it's charger (130W USB C) for my work laptop, cell phone, and itself. Quiet mode gives me control of how to throttle the laptop when you want to pull it out for casual use. So I can keept it quiet when I use it in bed then I can throw it in high performance for gaming. Works with thunderbolt docks and eGPUs if you need extra juice or connectivity. It's the perfect easy to carry laptop for anyone wanting to do some light machine learning, coding, or other productivity tasks. Easily worth the extra $200 and that's not even considering the X14s far superior build quality.

Better thermals, better build quality, far thinner, Intel instead of AMD.
It takes a bit of configuration to keep the laptop quiet depending on your use. I'm guessing that is a major turn off for some people, fans are loud! (Fans are louder on G14).
Frankly it's pretty damn easy to see if this is a good deal or not. There's only 3 viable options for people looking for a 14" thin and light gaming laptop with current gen processor and at least RTX 3060. Alienware X14, Asus Zephyr G14, and Razer Stealth 14. X14 is the only option with a current gen Intel processor. It happens to be $700 off right now for the first time ever. Considering Asus Zephyrus at $1000 is a slick deal, the upgrades on this machine are at least arguably worth the extra $200. We're talking better CPU performance, better keyboard and touchpad, better build quality, TB4 ports. I'd say this is a pretty slick deal.
To be clear I think the G14 is an awesome machine and at $1000 is a great deal. Also, for the general public I think a Stealth 14 at $1200 is a slicker deal than this. Just personally TB4 ports are invaluable and I've never seen the stealth go that low.
