I was contemplating returning my g14 6700s for this but decided to keep my g14

From my research, please correct me if I'm wrong.
  • X14 12th gen Intel chip performs better than G14's 6900 AMD
  • X14 runs cooler than super hot G14
  • X14 is 100% USB C Powered while G14 is not 100% USB c powered
  • X14 has a thin high-performance laptop with the footprint of a 15-inch ish laptop, and G14 is a thicker but smaller footprint.
  • X14 both RAM not upgradeable, G14 one of the slot is upgradeable
  • x14 and G14 WIFI / SSD upgradeable
  • X14's Battery life sucks, but G14 has a pretty good battery life

3060 with full hd only for this much? Other than the cool logo, why is it $200 more than others with the same or better specs?

I might hop on this if it at least had a 1tb ssd. 512gb is so small.

I bought this open box 2 weeks ago same price. Returning that now to get this new thanks.
Why? If yours works why take the chance on another. Also BB tracks returns so unless something is wrong with the open box you bought it makes ZERO sense.

Because you also get terrible Dell support with it!

Jarrod's Tech did a pretty extensive review of this unit 10 days ago. For a 130W system, it's pretty impressive how well it performs but at this price, you can get a laptop that performs much better than this one.

Don't think a 3060 is a good match for a 144Hz screen

Hello,

I just bought the ASUS - ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition 15.6" QHD Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 9 5980HX - 16GB from the recent listing on here where it was 1100$ on sale best buy...

Should I be looking to return it for this one? Or these other just posted IN range??

ASUS Zephyrus G14 Laptop: 14" WQXGA 120Hz, Ryzen 9 6900HS, RX 6800S, 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM

Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 5 Laptop: 16" 1200p, i7-12700H, 32GB DDR5, 1TB SSD, RTX A2000

That one seemed to have rave reviews and many happy campers... It has a slightly bigger screen, which is better, but no biggy... This one has 1gig SSD opposed to 500GB on the ROG, which is no big deal for me either...

Other than that the processor and gfx card seem slightly different?

Also... if anyone has any input there's also a Lenovo just posted on here within the same price range.. -- Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 5 Laptop: 16" 1200p, i7-12700H, 32GB DDR5, 1TB SSD, RTX A2000 --

Any opinions on whether or not I should return the Asus ROG for either of these?

I know the ROG is gaming computer, but I dont game as much anymore so I will likely be using this more for watching and mild editing of videos and more buiness use... compiling files etc

Any input would be greatly appreciated...

returning wouldnt be ideal, but if significantly better gotta be done. Also, I use to love/respect Asus for their mobo's in the past, but from what I've seen there other products maybe not as great? I had a cheap Asus netbook that was really bad, but thats low end etc anyways... and Lenovo is decent enough, (also might have the little nub which i would love as it kicks the touchpads arse!)

Anyways.. TIA!!

6800S is a lower power 6800M so the older Asus graphics is better but running ddr4 not the newer ddr5 but the 5980 was the top of the line for Ryzen 9 in the 5 series see below

As for desktop equivalents, it shouldn't come as a surprise that the 6800S is not even close to AMD's Radeon RX 6800 or 6800 XT. The 6800M was already miles off those GPUs in terms of specifications and performance. In this case, the 6800S is actually very similar to a desktop 6600 XT brought across to laptop form factors. The core configuration and memory is the same, but the desktop 6600 XT is clocked higher and features a higher 160W TDP.
