Good stuff. Too bad it's so hard to find at those prices on the east coast.

Not a surprise, since it's sewage sludge from Milwaukee.

Yep, it stinks. I get it, this is not for everyone. It is supposed to be a little safer for the kids/dog since it does not have 2, 4-D. So that is why I am on the watch for a deal.

A little safer than what. Most fertilizer doesn't have 2,4-D, unless you willingly buy "weed and feed" which, as the name implies, has added weed killer/2,4-D. Otherwise, there's no 2,4-D in any fertilizer.

Safer than what I used to use... something with 2, 4-D... doesn't matter. If someone is looking for this product it is a great price.

I guess, if you don't mind storing it over winter in your garage. Milorganite depends on fungus and bacteria to break it down and release the nutrients over time , so putting this down before winter would be ill advised, because bacteria and fungus slow down big time when it's cold.

Yeah, they call it "dormant feeding" for a reason. Put it down and hope the grass sees some of that nutrient in 5 months when it breaks dormancy. Silly.

Don't get me wrong, milorganite has its place, but this ain't it. This is the time to hit cool season grasses with water soluble nitrogen (urea or ammonium sulfate) to help it recover from summer, as well as build up those carbohydrate reserves for next spring.
