They can't hear you, because they are listening to their $1300 planar magnetic earbuds, peasant.

Basically they are exotic drivers.

In your normal run-of-the-mill cone speaker, the voice coil is a copper coil of wire suspended in a gap of a magnet. Energizing the coil causes interaction with the magnetic flux, and the cone moves back and forth to produce air waves.

In a planar magnetic speaker, a voice coil ribbon is supported between two magnetized planes. The voice coil being spread out over a relatively larger surface area cools efficiently allowing a lighter voice coil relative to a given wattage.

People claim that planar speakers sound airy and open.

So, anyway, they are expensive because they are exotic. Few, if anyone else, make these.

I came here to make a joke "Aww, Deeze are just too expensive!"

But, yes, actually this is a good price. If you are going for the ultimate in sound, for either enjoyment or some sort of acoustic production role, I can see why these would be amazingly better than the normal "consumer" stuff, even the $Bose or $Beats brands that seem to command the $BigBucks even though they are not that different from the basic stuff.

These work totally differently and for some types of listening it can make a big difference.

I've never experienced a planar magnetic earbud, so I can't imagine how they would sound. Buds in general don't seat in my ear very well. And keep in mind these still need wires (not shown in pictures). But I assume if they get a good seal with your ear canal, and you can keep them in, they would sound at least $1K worth of awesome.

It's just one of those things that you are either into or not for the money I spend $600 on pocket knives all day. I never thought I'd be that knife guy but I am. To each their own.

Yes, I have experience with planar magnetic in speakers and headphones, but until seeing this deal, I didn't even imagine it could be in earbuds.

Now whether that's really practical or not, I guess I don't know, but it's pretty cool that they could do it. I'd love to listen to some at least once.

BTW I have bought some similar high-end stuff from Adorama over the last few years, and it's always been a great transaction, with updates on shipping status, shipped quickly, well packed and in sealed new condition. Note that in some cases you might need to sign for delivery on large purchases.

Wondering whether to go for this or save for 64audio U12t possible deal on BF.

I have Planars (Tin P1, P2) and love the sound of them vs pure BA and Hybrid implementation, so was looking at Electrostatics hybrid and U12t but man this is good price for them to get in my audio journey. Any one who can provide an honest feedback as to how they would compare against Moondrop Variations?

Lol at those musicians who CAN hear difference as well as sound recording engineers, editors who DOES hear difference and countless ordinary folks who happens to have musical ears and also CAN hear difference.

Just wondering how these would hold in place in my ears, since I have trouble even with little standard earbuds (maybe that is the issue). All I can figure is that since these DO have a cord, and in one picture it's shown coming up and looping around, I'm assuming you loop the cord behind your ear, which provides stability and support for the fairly large driver mechanism.

The driver is described as 18mm which is about 3/4" and so the enclosure that hangs outside your ear will be larger than this. That is my main concern which is how these would work and stay in place, despite how good they may sound. Honestly looking at the pictures and the specs, I don't see how these could stay in place in anyone's ears unless held in place by the cord or some other device.
