Team Group has a questionable failure rate and terrible warranty that involves mailing it to Taiwan at you expense….gamble. Great price.

Exactly this. I used to disregard this and buy teamgroup until I finally had an issue (around a month after purchase) and it required mailing to Taiwan at cost. Won't be buying their products again.

Totally fair…most people won't have an issue…but if you do…whoa boy…not great. I refuse to save $10 and effectively have zero warranty…but to each their own. It might be fine.

If the drive failed in a month why wouldnt you just return it? I buy most stuff on amazon and they for sure would have refunded. for sure a shit warranty though. Glad the drive i got is still kicking a few months later.

Since I was curious, and both are up on this page now: CX2 has wear-leveling & ECC... AX2 has both those, plus SMART & Trim features

So NewEgg has a 30 day return window (I tested that - no issues at all, they replaced the failed product). For Team Group, I filled out an RMA and it actually gave me a US address to ship the item to:

Recipient：Team Group Inc. US-CA Office
Address：1911 Hartog Drive, San Jose, CA 95131-2213 U. S. A.

This CA address only shows up after everything is filled out, it did claim I had to ship it to Taiwan, but then it spit out the CA address.
