Perhaps some people (and maybe even most people) don't have a use for it, and that's totally valid, but it's just simply not accurate to say that it's useless as a blanket statement.
I use this in my car that doesn't have Bluetooth connectivity. Even when I changed phones and just used it as a Bluetooth connector (i.e. without actually connecting it to Alexa), it worked just fine to get my audio from my phone to my car speakers.
So, for anyone who just needs a Bluetooth bridge to connect their phone to their car speakers, I kind of think that $15 is a pretty good price for that kind of connectivity.
Also, it's not a "smart speaker". 🤷🏼 No sound comes out of the Echo Auto device itself; just light. It simply connects a Bluetooth device to a car's audio system through its auxiliary audio input port (and again, yes, you can use it for just that without even having Alexa involved at all).
