What's impractical? It's a laptop with a display that can unlock and be used in different positions. Nothing impractical about that.

As an digital artist, I complete agree with you. So far none of the surface products was made for professional art. They can work, but are far inferior compared to pen displays and drawing tablets. I would only use them temporarily on the go instead of using them as main rig.

I'm really bummed MS went Surface Laptop Studio direction instead of making an even better Surface Book. I felt the Surface Book was superior in design.

I had to rush out and get a Surface Book 3 13.5" i7 32GB/1TB before they discontinued it completely.

Cool idea and good specs, but looks so impractical to use.

This is really targeted at people who use the pen a lot.

Great deal. I wish I didn't pull a trigger on my XPS 15 a year ago so I could hop on this. That and 32gb RAM on this thing

When screen is up, using a pen with no arm support is dumb and uncomfortable. No precision.

When screen is "flat" it's high vs a tablet. Looks awkward as hell being so thick with nowhere for your arm…

Wondering if they'll update the specs with either ARM or Raptor Lake? I like this thing, I just want more travel in the keyboard and a 17' model. Then that's my mobile studio machine.

Amd would be preferable here if they are going with this power budget. Or a bigger beefier processor if it stays Intel.

I've been looking at XPS 15 vs the Studio. Do you have any particular reasons why you don't like the one you have or why you would have preferred the Studio?

Actually you are right, an 6800u with 6400mhz ddr5 would be powerful enough and cheaper.

As a non-artist, can you tell me what the difference is, in terms of use. Like what is better and what features are missing from the Surface lineup that a drawing tablet offers?

Don't get i7 370h 11th gen! What was MS thinking!? Just wait for new gen next month, or better sale!

As a heads up, the Microsoft event announcing the next gen surfaces has already been announced. Makes sense we're seeing discounts on older models now.

Surface book was a superior design. This thing looks like a mess and is far less versatile. They made the screen size bigger and lowered the resolution too. What is Microsoft thinking?
