Does this stay sharp? Im surprised it doesnt come with more blades(multi bladed like nose)

It's a trimmer; that you have to buy expensive blades as they dull.

There are better rated trimmers, such as beard reduction trimmers; with self sharpening blades, with guards and they are very inexpensive.

It does not shave smooth and close; if that's what you want.

It is not a body shaving foil, combined with rounded non-biting trimmer; If that's what you want.

Reviewers report a decline in the newer models and poor durability. It doesn't last.

I always point out; that the closest(if that's what you want), safe shave with DE wet shaving can ironically be setup in the other way as very mild, for new shavers. Even to maintain some stubble if that's what you want. Just get smoother DE blades and a very tight DE holder(razor) gap. But like many things; one must follow the tried and true methods of wet shaving EXTREMELY lightly; compared to dragging cartridges and mainly (ANY holder gap or even adjustable) just ANGLE out. Meaning less cutting close.

And you may not know; that DE shaving can go that close and faces really do need time to acclimate(to closer than you may believe). So, you must have self control to NOT shave as close as it can; because that is too far and you can get red faced before you know what happened. Shave at the end of a shower for softening stubble, and so milder tools. Use a good ole OPTIONAL (synthetic for durability and inexpensive) shaving brush and a top rated (but extremely inexpensive) shave cream/soap is a must(slickness that sticks and cushion) when getting so much closer. You should not feel any pain, sharpness, burn, cut, nick or anything bad or you simply did it wrong and can't blame the method.

If you are young then you are not getting into any of that anyway; if you set it mild/close in the safety gap of the holder and also a smooth least sharp blade. Simply mind the sides of the blade and develop good technique. LIGHTLY. A minor muscle memory adjustment from cartridges. Shaving "flatter". Just no DRAG. YOU are now in control.

If you are older; then your stubble is like copper and this is the way. But you better make yourself go easy for a month; because you may need the sharpest blades and EVENTUALLY (as in NOT at first) a wide gap blade holder/Razor, so you can go CLOSER. Perfect technique then required.

Baby close (over days at first) comes from sharpness applied LIGHTLY and with LESS cut angle, buffed until gone COMFORTABLE. Not dragging harder or pushing it in closer.

You must not use DE like a cartridge. This is why you will hear all-knowing fools and shills report; that they tried it and you should be scared. LOL.

The real secret to the absolute closet, perfect shaving for YOUR skin(elasticity) is that angling out, to closer to where it does nothing, than to close to shaving to close and simply buff it over that spot again (LIGHTLY rather than the DRAG) until you progressively mow it smooth; with no push, drag or any damaging friction. With that you will learn how it works for you. But do not be concerned with the absolute best shave for the first few times. Do not test any creative "methods" shaving generally. This is a known thing. Testing means you get a nick or have a blade that is to sharp for you. If you do it right and get a weeper; then you are at YOUR limit. Weepers disappear with cold water alone. Not even a nick. THAT'S how close one can go with wet shaving. So DO NOT shave closest(BEFORE weepers); for your first month.

That's the deal; and why everyone does not do it. But you know that "good" shaving; that you once got with cartridges.,...No where close! But don't get me wrong. It's not a contest. If you just want it to look good; but still feel it (like wisely to stop neck bumps there) then you can and you should do that too. And that's another thing. It's per face area; because now you are in control.

It BTW also cost a mere fraction compared to any other shaving way. The slickest. No, don't buy the expensive DE holders/razors. There are great ones for $2. $20 for fancy. A once in a life time (or progeny too) purchase. And blades are as little as 6 cents; bought in 100 packs. At any given time you can spend about $8 and get 100 DE blades of your choice and that can last YEARS. They are two sided and last for 4 to 8 shaves each (before not feeling brand new sharp). The sharpest Feather blades are the highest at 25 cents ea. There are so many others.

I just can't believe I did not discover them earlier. I wasted years with those marketed BS cartridges, training me to drag way to hard, for poor results and razor bumps. Heck, set mildest then DE can do better than that.

NOT for everyone; but maybe for you. Everything dulls; so get yourself some DE blades. Double Edged Safety Razor and blades. Astra is about middle sharpness. Derby for nubile's. Feather for us old pirates with a death wish(for that stubble). NO TRIMMER REQUIRED EITHER, like you have to trim a long beard; before foil shaving in parts.

Oh and get a best rated body shaver as needed and now with DE in play then you can also get just a $12 single foil-only for touch ups (ears etc..) instead of the $100 yearly special super beard foil razor. The best foil can't get as close as DE and sharpness requires re-buying; because that's usually better than their new blade/foils for them.
