Even iPad struggles with 8gb RAM. And we are taking about Windows here. This should be criminally punishable. They sell these so that you buy another next year and throw this to trash

This checked all the other boxes for me but I have a browsing the internet laptop that needs to be replaced and it's from 2011 with 8 gb of ram.

I bought a Lenovo Ideapad 5 Pro with 8 GB of RAM last year and it flies! All I do is browse the web and some other easy stuff so I knew 8 GB was plenty and it absolutely is. I never get any lag regardless of how many tabs and other programs I have open. Love it!

I have one from 2020 during the pandemic and it still flies with 8gb of RAM.

Most people don't need more than 8GB. Your system will be a ram hog if you have give it 32GB to use, sure. But windows will be able to make due with 8GB for normal usage no problem. I'm not saying 16 GB isn't worth it, it is. I'm just saying that it isn't the end of the world if you can only afford 8GB.

The Thinkpad X with a 5650U at this price is fantastic.
