Have this and it's got lmao-tier battery life. Maybe you'll get 4 hours. Also has issues booting on occasion.

This is $10 less than the FP deal a few weeks ago. You can click on the link and go through the comments in case you have any queries.

Is there anything else out there like this but with good battery life (except for the MBP 16 and its notched screen)?

As a work machine, this seems perfect except the battery should last at least 8 hours of light use. Macbooks are getting twice as much so it's definitely doable.

No way to get the Ryzen to power down the watts it uses when idle or low activity?

Yep, I had these same issues with booting. Whenever the computer would hibernate, it wouldn't turn on again unless I held the power button for 10-15 seconds.

This machine is for those who want a thin-ish machine that is ISV certified which is not a vast majority of us.

This would be a great notebook at this price if it had a bigger battery and a dgpu that didn't suck like a black hole. if it had an 80+wh battery and a decent dgpu like an rtx 3600 mobile at that price it would be worth it, but not like this... not like this...

this laptop has very poor build quality. My trackpad pops out slightly and higher than the laptop frame. Too bad I didn't find it earlier and missed the return window. Had already scheduled one repair service and they couldn't fit it as it is due to production error. Now second repair on the way. Besides sometimes it need force power down otherwise can't wake from sleep. Also sometimes need plug in power to power on, can't power on on battery.

For those having issues with the laptop not waking from sleep without a full reboot; there seems to be an issue with windows compatibility and it's sleep function. I recently purchased an Ideapad 5 pro and had the same issue. I found the cause was any process that can force wake the computer while sleeping. Disabling all wake permissions for events and processes fixed the issue for me, including windows update using group policy editor.

I also used this script to disable anything I missed. (I am not the creator)
