"Aluminum encapsulated base" likely means this is not fully clad.

The material is stainless steel + aluminum.
Clad = a sandwich of stainless steel + aluminum (usually) + stainless steel
Full clad = this sandwich is used throughout the entire pan (minus the handle)
"Aluminum encapsulated base" = I'm guessing it means only the bottom of the pan is that clad sandwich where the sides are just SS.

Glass lid -- that's great until it shatters. I've heard that shards of glass add a bit of roughage into one's diet.
This just doesn't happen while cooking. The only way the glass would break would be 1) you drop the lid on the floor, 2) you pour cool/tap water on the glass to cool it off when it's still hot. But most people are smart enough not to do that.

Yes it will, the aluminum layer does not negate the steel. Fairly cheap pan, so not sure of the performance, though.

"Safe to use on all stovetops, including induction"
