I'm at about a year of use.
Lost the pictures from the first day with my dog because of a fake SD card I bought on Amazon. Never. Again.
Would be different if it was the last day with your dog. Would be a little more difficult to reshoot.

I only buy Sandisk, Samsung or Transcend now. Have never had any fail on me. I do have a PNY SSD in an old computer and it's been fine so far

On the livelier side of things, bought 3 of these 128gb PNY cards about 2-3 years ago for roughly the same price during that crazy Walmart clearance.
They've seen almost daily phone use with frequent transfers, large, file transfers, deletes, rewrites, writes, etc.
Two still work no issues AFAICT.
The other was I irreversibly . damaged in a extraction during a SD card tray malfunction.

Just a note though, you might want to consider springing for a card specified as "High Endurance." Memory cards store data in cells that can only be written to a certain number of times, and continuous recording devices like security cameras can wear them out. A "High Endurance" card should last longer.
Anecdotally, I've heard regular cards can wear out in a matter of months (of 24/7 use), depending on the size and rate of writing. I think High Endurance cards are often rated for 10,000 hours (over a year) or more.
