I took a trial and returned the second day. The ping is too high for game player. If you play video, 300Mbps+ is enough for you.

I have many people who have gotten the 5G home from Verizon and it's amazing for gaming and streaming

Since these work off tower signals, geography and EM interference will affect performance considerably, I would imagine. We're slightly behind a hill relative to the nearest Verizon tower, and I don't think it would work very well for us. However, we have FIOS, so I don't really care to switch anyway.

I had Verizon 5G Home Internet for 3 weeks at the beginning of the year because my Cox service was down and was waiting for them to restore it. It worked pretty amazingly, I was getting about 200/20. My Cox service just went up again and honestly I don't need the plan I have anymore so thinking of switching back. Do you have to be a new customer for this?

Just my 2 cents. Currently testing out vz "mid band" 5g home internet with the askey cube router. For reference, I've been using TMobile 5g home internet for over a year at 2 different addresses. Both are good services if you can live with the limitations and have solid signals. Overall Verizon has the edge tho for a few reasons in my opinion. Vz 5g home internet has been incredibly consistent so far. 300 down, 20 up, always. Altho the down and up does burst about 25% higher initially for a few seconds before vz qos kicks in. Latency and jitter is overall better with vz too. another thing I like is that the version gateway is way more configurable and you actually get a routable public IP if you need to use dynamic DNS, etc. TMobile at certain times of day is upwards of 500 down and 90 up but will often be in the 200's down and 30-40 up during peak streaming hours. At both addresses I've seen a steady decline in both peak time and off time speeds with tmo as they continue to sell it to just about anyone that wants it. Supposedly vz is being much more conservative in their rollout and I believe it since availability on the vz 5g home internet is way more.limited right now.

Anyway I'm not a hardcore gamer but the vz 5g service usually gives me a buffer bloat score of A while TMobile is get an F always even if my speeds are better with tmo.

I've had no issues with 4k streaming, work VPN, light gaming, etc.

Oh yeah I just got the stream tv soundbar for 99 after the promo discount. Solid sound and Android tv 11 for the price is a good value imo. Goes pretty dang loud. OS isn't the snappiest (feels unoptimized) but the specs are really good and it does have a s905x4-b chipset. Perfect for the wife's den / workout room. You could do a lot worse for the money and it seems like a quality, albeit failed product thus the clearance.

For those who find the gift card offer interesting - note the terms and conditions say

"We reserve the right to charge the amount of the Gift Card to your Verizon account if eligible service is canceled w/in 180 days. Other Gift Card terms and conditions apply."

So do we sign up for the phone plan first? Which phone plan is the cheapest we can sign up with?

I've been looking at this. I'm an ATT everything. Mobile, Internet, and Direct TV. My speed is 30 mbps at the most. Verizon web says it's available at my location. Before I order, including mobile phone switches, is there any way I can actually check the strength. I live in a north facing condo.

Question 2.

Some Verizon plans state 50% off monthly plan charge, for smartwatches. Is that limited to one, or one per line. We have three lines.

Just ordered mine on Sunday as my box should arrive today. I am ready to dump my Xfinity Gigabit if the speeds are consistently at 300/20. Paying $35/mo is insane for the amount of speed you get. On average I am getting 400-600 consistently on my first level. Second level in my bedroom is where I find Xfinity lacking. I have their gateway/router and 2nd gen pod. I can only get 100mbps in my bedroom. Router is roughly 25 feet or so from my bed to gateway. We also have an open concept as well.

I've been trying find the specs (memory, storage, processor) for that verizon soundbar. Where did you find out about s905x4-b? Thanks

The s905x4-b I got from the fcc hardware listing I think. I'll try to find it.

This is what's inside the soundbar. Same exact hardware. "Android TV Guide - Verizon Stream TV (V2)" https://sites.google.com/view/dro...ream-tv-v2
