Went to Costco Business Center to try and redeem some of my Citi coupons on some new airpods pro and the guy wasn't able to do it from there since not a warehouse. He did find the item # and then told me to wait until 10/8/22 as the warehouses will have them priced at $169.99. He said I could take a picture of the screen. Hopefully this helps someone else that was going to buy and willing to wait another 9 days.

URL is just a link to the product page for info purposes. I don't post deals often, so my formatting probably sucks idc.

Retail: $239.99
Sale: $169.99

https://www.costco.com/apple-airp...15258.html

EDIT: Since a lot of people seem to be skeptical on this point, I want to point out two things because people cannot read apparently. This is for 2ND GEN with its item number, it is not a mistake on that. However, there is a big potential that this is a pricing mistake for this item and will be corrected on 10/8, but I will leave the post up as the information was from a Costco employee's system and not based on rumor. Don't waste your energy getting upset that it might not happen, just move on to the next deal.

Just wanted to add that I purchased the Airpods Pro 2 today (at the full price).

Having used the Airpods Pro 1, I am kinda disappointed. Compared both side by side, the noise cancelation is not significantly better. The one part I noticed an obvious improvement was noise cancelation when typing on a Mechanical keyboard.

The sound quality feels a bit worse since the bass seems slightly overpowering. The volume control on the earbud is hard to use, but I guess it's better than not having it at all. I need to fiddle around more with the EQ to see if I can balance out the sound a bit more. I did not try the spatial audio features since my iPad has not yet received the iPadOS 15 update which is required to be able to use all functions of the new Airpods, including head tracking and stuff.

Why did I buy the new Airpods? I needed a backup pair, but now reconsidering if I should just get the Gen 1 at a much lower price.

I bought from Target with the Costco sale price in mind. So if it does go on sale I will get a price match from Target. If not, these are going back, and I'll order another gen 1

No, when the post first came out, I checked and it was nation wide. Now the sale is complete purge from the system pertaining this model.
Thanks for the update. Like I said originally, I would be buying these for "free" with the credit card rewards anyways, but figured I would share the deal anyways.

Seems like more people were thankful at the potential deal, a few upset people that nothing better to do with their lives than complain. My account is 10 years old and I've posted two deals; I am not clout chasing, just trying to help out people if I can.

Have a great day and thanks again.

Should I visit the normal store or Costco business to check it out on 10/8? 😅

So you've confirmed they've already fixed this mistake?

So you're saying OP was responsible for screwing the deal (?)

No. The deal wouldn't never have happened because there are many layers to their system when it comes to sales and it would have been corrected 3-5 days before the sales date. The corporate and/or manufactures would set the sales price. They(HQ) normally know the sales price at least 5-6 weeks out. They would sent it down to the sales department and then the sales department would sent it to the "buyers". The buyers make sure the depot and warehouses would have enough inventory of the expected sale items. Then from there, when it gets about 5-7 days from sales date, the sales department would double check the items that would be on sale and once everything is good, they would post it on this internal page where the manager/supervisor of that particular department(major sales, foods, health and Beauty, meat)in the warehouse would login to their account to see updates on what item would be on sale and how to display them(which row, which aisle, end caps.) and they would then have to print the signs out and put it on display. I can't remember the last time costco ever had a price mistake. Like I stated much earlier in this thread, the most common mistake when it comes to pricing is when the supervisor or manager forget to pull the old sale price down and update it with the sign. Even with that, once you checkout at the register, it will ring up the higher price and if you really want to fight for that old sales price, the sup will override but will get an employee to update that price ASAP.

Also, major sales department are always triple checked because costco do not want to jeopardize their relationship with those vendors(apple/Microsoft, Samsung, LG, Sony) compare to let's say Jif peanut butter or jimmy dean breakfast sausage.
