I know when I buy a refurbished computer from a authorized Microsoft refurbished it only has windows on it with no trial software or any other software. Do refurbished computers from Dell come with just Windows on it and without any other trial software?

Don't know the answer, but Even if it has other software, login to it, and make sure the computer shows Windows is activated.
Download a windows iso image from Microsoft (google for link) and then do a fresh install, wipe everything and start over. This way you will know that there is nothing else on it, and since it's activated before it will activate on its own.
Just make sure you install the same version of windows version and type (so windows 10 pro to win 10 pro).

Wondering if companies are dumping stockpiles of their systems that can't be upgraded to Windows 11.
Many of these refurbished systems can't be upgraded (the regular way) to Windows 11. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us...processors
(I was interested in i5-7600 and i5-6500 until discovering that.)
I'd say there are better deals to be had. I'd *maybe* consider a 7th Gen I processor (because it can handle 4k Netflix albeit barely). Better to go for an 8th Gen or newer with native windows 11 support (rather than bypassing requirements)
Edit: also noticed comment above re:sff vs micro. You can get a micro in this price range. That's what I'm using for my htpc.

You can force windows 11 but mainly they're dumping off lease machines. These are 5-6 years old.
Thank you for posting this deal! I was looking for a basic computer for a friend and $158 delivered is perfect. Also thanks to supersteals for the re-image suggestion! I really like refurbished computers since they only have windows on them because they seem to run perfect without any bloat or trial software.

Thanks for that but a forced win11 install is quite the same, from what I understand. Most, likely, won't have issues but I'm sure I'd be the one that faced issues with Win11 down the road with some kind of wonky Win11 update (or no ability to get updates). Growing tired of MS error messages and conflict issues. Otherwise, good deal for some.

May have Office Trial, but usually just Windows OS from Dellrefurbished.com

Please provide a link to the better deals for $125 or less.

There may be workarounds to get Windows 11 on the units, but Windows 10 Pro is probably sufficient for most people.
