The footage should be accessible to police if the owner of the cameras gave permission or police obtained a court order, but they shouldn't be able to get footage without one of those two circumstances as it's a violation of privacy. Just because police suspect a crime may have occurred doesn't mean that one did and the evidence they have of a crime might not be sufficient enough to violate someone's right to privacy. That's for a court to decide. Ring should just have an agreement that an owner can sign off on or not, that in an emergency situation Ring can provide footage without needing to get permission each time. I would agree to that as long as it's an exigent situation, like an in-progress hostage situation or an active shooter, but not after the fact without my permission. Chances are I would agree anyway, but absent a court order I should be able to make that decision, not Ring and not the police.
Love this light and it has been great to feel a sense a security. I need to get individual cameras around the house but Ring doesn't make them I think.
Thy have the stickup cams and spotlight cam.

Just use the same SSID and it'll pick up automatically.
It didn't.
I changed the service's provider. They gave me a new modem/router and i made the same SSID with same password...It would work fine if I have my own router.
If you search online, there are tons of complaints about this stupid issue.
I had mines for about 2 years now. Resolution on these are poor compare to eufy and others. At night good luck seeing clear video of people's faces more than 10 away. During the day it gets better but still not acceptable. Ring needs to upgrade the resolution before I consider getting another.
So would you recommend Eufy? I have a ring doorbell but just bought a smart lock from Eufy and love it. I'm so impressed I was thinking about switching everything to Eufy. Plus it appears they don't have a monthly fee.
Another option is to trade in your old security device at Bestbuy to receive a 10% coupon for use on security cameras or locks.

Im not sure if i should wait for the pro or not.... i just dont see if i need the birds eye feature... hmm i would prefer more responsive connectivity to load the video when theyre at my door and not leaving my house on the sidewalk (no its not a network issue on my end, more a cloud responsiveness and hardware issue)
I really like the pro. We have 28 ring cameras, covering gamut from doorbell/spotlight/solar/plus/pro.
The Pro is currently sitting 400' from the 5Ghz access point, and while it has -76dbi, its got ~200mb connection up and down to my access point.
The birdseye view...I'm not sure that is of any value. I wouldn't buy it for that reason.
The 3D/radar detection, which is likely what the birdseye uses...that might be worthwhile.
Anyway, the video, 400' from my access point (clear line of site) is excellent.

I installed eufy cameras at my parents house and while the resolution is great if I compare the detection reliability of both, Rings wins it. So pick your poison.

In theory yes but in real life, not always. Personal experience trying this and it did not work. Another time I had to climb ladder, needed to change credentials for a reason.
Wondering what the differences are between the original Ring Floodlight cam vs the Plus? It appears Ring may have just updated the name to Plus. And then added the Ring Floodlight Pro to the lineup. Pro includes birds-eye view, which does nothing for me. Wished Ring would upgrade their camera resolution to at least 4k and motion detection software. Sometimes I won't receive the alert until the person walks 30 ft past the floodlight and rings the doorbell.
I have three of the original floodlight cams installed in 2017 when I moved in. Recently, one of them had the clear plastic cam lens detach and they opted to send me a new one which is the plus. The plus uses a completely different mounting bracket which did not work as well as the old one (in terms of fitment). I had to seal a huge gap between the fixture housing and exterior. Video footage of the plus looks slightly different than the original. More vibrant colors? Not something that is a deal breaker and most average people won't care. If you had crappy connections with the old one, you will still have crappy connections with the plus. Hope this helps.
