Amazon has a few Fender Player Plus models on sale. In some cases they're less expensive than the standard player line. So far I've found:
Player Plus Nashville Telecaster (Opal Spark) [amazon.com] for $799.49 (MSRP $1,129.99)
Expired, now $992.07
Player Plus Nashville Telecaster (Aged Candy Apple Red) [amazon.com] for $855.13 (MSRP $1,129.99)

Fender Player Plus Telecaster (Cosmic Jade) [amazon.com] for $776.10 (MSRP $1099.99)
Expired, now $1099.99
Fender Player Plus Telecaster (3-Color Sunburst) [amazon.com] for $752.49 (MSRP $1099.99)
-Now $714.87 > now $681.89
Fender Player Plus Stratocaster (Opal Spark) [amazon.com] for $815.04 (MSRP $1099.99)

The Player Plus series differs from the Player series in that the guitars have:
- Noiseless pickups
- Locking tuners
- 12" neck radius
- Rolled fret edges
For me, these are all advantages. However, fans of vintage Fender guitars -- especially models with 7.5" radius necks -- might not like the modern neck of the Player Plus series.
I'm 99% sure that I've missed a few Player Plus models that are also on sale. Kindly leave a comment if you've found additional ones.
These guitars shipped and sold by Amazon, with Amazon customer service.

the "history" is pretty short considering these models have been available for about a year. SD shows one Player Plus post in the same price range.
i'm still waiting for you to show how these deals happen "all the time," as you've said. for some reason, you won't or can't do that.
Modern C neck: definitely a subjective preference
Rolled frets: objectively a nicer feature and requires more labor
Locking tuners: certainly more expensive and most find them useful for string changes
Noiseless pickups: some people find them a bit flat, while others think they sound good. most think that the noiseless pickups on the American Ultra series are better.
Push-pull pot: on the Player Plus Strat it adds the neck pickup to the first and second positions, while on the Player Plus Tele is puts the two pickups in series. it's never bad to have more sound options.
Satin fingerboard finish: the Player finish is gloss, while Player Plus is satin. this one is subjective.
USA string trees: these are better than the Mexican string trees on the Player
Block saddles: these are better than the bent saddles on the Player
Gig bag: this is include with the Player Plus and not the Player
i'm probably missing a few things, but those are the Player Plus vs. Player differences i can remember.

If I have a 1-time coupon for 20% (tend to get them a couple of times per year) it just requires a 5-minute chat w/ MF to get it applied to supposedly excluded Fender (or other) products. I've done similar with the generic 15% coupons as well. They're not keen on doing it with open-box though, which often end up being more than the brand new gear with the discount.

where are these "all the time" deals? a quick look at Guitar Center, Sweetwater, and Musician's Friend show them at MSRP. i don't know how a manufacturer setting a price is an Amazon gimmick, but okay....
