That's said sorry dudes. I caved. 570 is kind of what i was looking for or there bouts. I've been as pissed as anyone else about these prices more so. I swear i have gray hair now over the nvidia thing 4070.
I watched over the summer as people were dropping a grand on this crap. I bought my 1080 ti for 450, this is 570 many years later. I like buying the last gen, and wasn't going to get anything new anyway. I always look for last gen on sale. It's below tier below pricing, and honestly sure it will drop more in some time-- what 500, maybe in a year 400. I mean even when the 6800xt was considered a fine deal it was almost 700 (bear in mind i didn't think it was). I think this is one that you may or may not happen again for some time. It's hard to say. I wasn't willing to let this one go. However also this is the card and brand i realy wanted. It's not over clocked so it's super quiet. the thing runs at 60's and it has dual bios. Quiet no dramma gpu with a 3 year warranty. It's been a long journey though covid. Good bye gpu shopping for a few years again... i won't miss you this time. This will cost me about 120 a year or so. That's my jam.
My case at this point kind who cares if it drops more it's close enough. I'm ok buying gpus if they sell them for not dog poo prices. there were some previously i was tempted but held there was the lenovo 3080 12gb, but god i didn't want to spend 700 and it was some hoops. This was zero regrets for me. I mean with the 100 off the at least the 6800xt option is pretty good. I don't see much down side on this one. I'd not spend more than 600 for a gpu now though. once you hit 700 go for the new stuff i say Sure it might be 800 or so, with tax you hit nine that crap adds up.

FYI, in the US, companies cannot require you to register to obtain the warranty for their products.
Gigabyte does a same thing if you register they bump you up for a free year to four years. That's a great tip though. I agree it's confusing. I think they used to have a 2 year warranty but changed some time ago. I know asus has different durations for different product lines.
XFX i've used them for so many years there was a time when it was a lifetime warranty decades ago.
Sorry you missed it. I'd watch like a hawk because i keep seeing zip deals, just clearly now don't need it myself, but this happened to be my unicorn. Man newegg is my darling now they know how to work deals for us. It's been a long time coming to see these prices finally hitting some gravity.

that's annoying. since i bought it w/ the deal already I was just about to post back to check since i saw it was in stock to see if the code works. Maybe someone can ask new egg chat, and mention that you had tried to order it over the weekend but the stock went out.

I had been going from Nvidia to Amd, and had a lot of trouble at first getting the system to boot. It's very similar. I reset my board and it worked. I've noticed this several times with RDNA 2 when switching form nvidia. I don't k now why. It does really seem to be the case.
I doubt your card was defective, at least in the traditional sense. I 've replicated that exact with the msi 6900 xt i returned (because the junction temp was insane almost 100c, and this card) when going from an nvidia card. were you doing that?
The the thing that i tried and i believe works is using the nvidia driver clear tool, uninstalling and then installing Amd Radeon.
This is one of the reasons why my next cpu will have integrated graphics. It's nice to have something that' s pretty guaranteed to work in addition. I'm pretty much positive you've got the same issue though because i've seen it in two different cards with this chip/arch and on two machines. YOu'll get a black screen and can't even get in the bios. Clean drivers then install card, or reset bios etc. You can do that if you use the jumper or button if you have it. Even removing the battery didn't work for me initially cleaned up everything.
Aside from that, this has been a zero regret purchase. i really like the amd software, and just an FYI the card runs extremely cool I really didn't want an over clocked card i just don't like them. I know there are no reviews on this one though so here we go:
It's got a plastic shroud, it's extremely large, the fins aren't that high, spaced away from the fans probably to improve air.-- size long and wide but not fat so in terms of LWH the height of the fins is shorter than some but the shroud is spaced away. The net effect of how this card is clocked and the sheer size of the cooler it's stays extremely cool. It didnt' seem to need a support bracket but i bought one anyway not flex and the end is lighter than the middle. This card isn't all metal like the fancy one and doesn't really have a support inside. I think in the next month there will be a lot of these 6900xt's for 500's like this. Just watch closely. But the model i posted is fantastic as compared t the msi one. This is clocked perfectly and generates no heat and noise. You don't know it's running in your computer. It's not quite water cooled level. but its good. I think if you have the space, want a lower clocked card and dont' want any heat or sound this is a good option. I looked around the cold plate is pretty thick, must be smooth because the junction temp is 60's on full load and they have pads on all the fets. The caps look standard issue
The site does require registering for the 3 year warranty over the two, but they confirmed to me and email i had the 3 year warranty after registering.
