Looks like they don't give you the gift card or trade in discount until after they receive your unit correct? Eg. they said I'd get a $30 gift card and 25% limited time credit off my next echo purchase, not this one.

Does anyone have experience with how long the trade in process takes? Or how long the credit is for?

Once your trade-in is complete, an Amazon.com Gift Card equal to an appraised value of your old device(s), plus a promotional discount towards any new qualifying Echo device, will be automatically applied to your account. Promotional discount is limited to one per customer

Not sure then. I went through to the last step in the checkout process and it still shows $60. No mention of the 25% discount.

I think it took me 3-4 times before the discount would show.

Not only do you have to wait for the credit, but it also has an expiration date. Learned it the hard way. Can't time it with deals.

I got the gift card and the discount instantly yesterday. When was the last time that you used this promotion? My experience with this is that you can't get the instant coupon and gc as often as you want. The last time I used the trade-in promotion was July and then a few days later I wanted to buy another echo device but it wouldn't give me the instant coupon.

Surprised this deal isn't getting traction? Premium sound and a built in Zigbee hub have me very tempted. We have Echo Dots throughout the house and have them synced to play music - they sound ok but one of these "big boy" Echos with the premium sound might add a little punch to the overall quality in a central location on our first floor. Might be nice to punch up the sound quality a bit as my wife will be blasting holiday music in a matter of weeks. The Zigbee hub is a nice bonus - I currently don't have any Zigbee devices, but the built in hub would open up a lot of possibilities for other smart home devices.

I traded in a 3rd generation echo dot and immediately got a $5 credit and 25% off the echo device that i purchased ($15 off $60). So $40 total.

It varies by account I used to get instant discounts but now I have to wait for trade in to be processed. Amazon's algorithm decided we aren't great customers, haha.

I mailed mine Monday morning and they processed it Friday fwiw.
