All in all, if you are open to experiment, go for them, but if you have doubts, its okay to pass on these till you can audition in person/have the right amplification.

In terms of cost, these KEF are a few steps those ones I listed and there seems to be a belief there's no perceiveable difference, or at least not enough to justify the price to the typical slickdeals user.
To each there own but this shouldn't be "thumbs downed" either by these people. Yet, if there is a legitimate reason to downgrade this, at least state the reason why.
edit: it's a base port. I thought maybe it was an omni-pole tweeter, but the tweeter just has a filter on the back.

I have the original KEF LS50 and they sound great.
That's why i traded them for LS50 wireless. Highly advise to audition wireless version. KEF ultimately nailed SQ with LF: Class D and HF: Class AB amplification. But at the same time KEF fail at their app for wireless part. It does sux big time.
