I bought my 6a for a bargain after trading in my old cracked 3a. I haven't been impressed. My 4a 5g battery lasted considerably longer. I have to charge my 6a by evening. Performance is similar. The screen fingerprint reader is terrible. I've tried changing my finger prints over and over but it fails to read my finger 75% of the time. I'm back to swiping to unlock. And none of the Pixel phones have working hotspots with Total Wireless. Blame Google blame Total Wireless but neither care.
I also upgraded from my 4a 5G and have had similar issues. Fingerprint reader is vastly inferior and I often revert to my pattern code. I also noticed the battery is about the same if not worse, but takes a lot longer to charge

Overall though I'm fairly satisfied with the phone. It is a bit more snappy than the 4a 5g and will get updates for longer

I will echo most of this. Reception is miserable and calls drop for no reason. I almost NEVER have more than 2 bars of service in the suburbs of Chicago unless I am right next to a tower. I signed up for the beta program for carrier services or whatever it is called (a forum recommended it) and it didn't help.

Android 13 just made my battery drain faster. Fingerprint reader sucks compared to my 3a XL that I traded in. Miss that phone a lot. Never thought I'd consider anything other than the Pixel line, but I am now.
miss the old fingerprint sensor... these in screen ones suck fat monkey balls. BRING BACK THE OLD SENSOR GOOGLE!

WIlliam, i hear you. Damn, i traded in my 3a XL for this 6a and now regret it. Should had kept that phone, much better and gotten suckered for the $300 trade in. The 6a finger print sensor is horrible.

I'm writing this comment on my pixel 6a, and I can confirm how bad the fingerprint sensor is. I've been using a slow charger, my friend says it's better for the battery, but not much improvement over the old 3a I traded in.

I'll just note that I've had mine for about a week and the finger print scanner doesn't work MAYBE 10% of the time. I have very few issues with it.

The phone was complete and utter shit in the beginning.
Then there was an update of some sort for the 6a about 3 weeks ago that was available on my phone.

And all of a sudden after that, the fingerprint reader was fully functioning. Works about 99% of the time now

I have the Pixel 5a and love the back fingerprint sensor. I wish Google brings it back in a future phone.

Activate *later*? So does this phone require signing up for wireless service or not? (Confused)

My 6a is stable after the Android 13 update. Battery is fine, not overheating, fingerprint sensor works. Be sure to use a case with adequate ventilation to prevent overheating.

My only complaint is that the speaker is super quiet for watching videos/listening to audio. Call volume is fine and no issues when using headphones.

bc basically they released the phone without fully testing it with the current firmware. inexcusable for a flagship phone. tons of problems. the phone is fine now after latest firmware update, minus isolated issues

never had these prtoblems with my 3a. it was perfect out of the box

Ah I haven't been able to use my Total Wireless Hotspot function on either my 3a or 6a for a long time now, I tried everything to fix it but never could get it to work. I got the run-around from both Google and Total Wireless as well, each blaming the other. Glad at least I'm not the only one.
