Pretty sure I know the answer, but if I'm running media through smart TV apps, even if I'm utilizing an ARC to a receiver and back, this won't work, right?

Nope, only external video devices. ARC carries audio not video.

Wouldn't you connect an external device (Nvidia shield tv?) to one HDMI and connect your sound system to HDMI-ARC

Yep, that's how I understand it. You need to connect via a external player.

BTW, I price matched with bestbuy so 187 OTD along with $50 bestbuy GC that they had on offer.

I'm getting this for God of War: Ragnarok. I've played PC games using the Sync app and I like what it adds to the experience. Using it on Kena: Bridge of Spirits currently and it's awesome. Someone will probably say this device can't do 4K 120hz and they're right. I say, show me a PS5 or Xbox X game that runs at 4K 120hz. They are barely able to hit true 4K 60hz.

Seems a good addition to my entertainment center for the PS5 and Nvidia Shield.

I'd give it a go mainly for my media viewing. Also, after bestbuy pricematch this was too good to pass up Smilie

Place the order on Bestbuy.com and from the order status page click cancel & support option

Mine turns on automatically when the PS5, Switch, or Google Chromecast is turned on. If I don't want the lights to come on I watch stuff through the native apps on my TV.

If you have this setup right it's great!

Got it when it came out. Have my Apple TV and switch hooked up to it. I'm able to get Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision on it (LG C1). For us it's really just a fun product we use when watching family movies.

I set mine up last night and I'm still working through the kinks. The biggest frustration I have now is audio. I have my soundbar connected directly from soundbar to HDMI Arc on Samsung TV and getting it to recognize the audio is hit or miss when watching content through Firestick and Chromecast. Yesterday, sound was coming through soundbar. Today it's only coming through TV speakers. Can't figure out how to always have it come through soundbar so if anyone has experience with this, your input is greatly appreciated!
