So, business as usual then over at Topaz. It might be a ton of work so I can't blame them.

i recommend m1 pro macbook for video editing. only get a windows laptop if you plan on gaming.
Because...fanboy? At the end of the day, identify the *software* you want to use, figure out what *hardware* and *operating system* it will run on, then go buy that maybe?

The full ecosystem of computers is not defined by "Apple" and "Windows". Plenty of people are running Linux, custom OSes, and doing really interesting things with their computer hardware.

There is no universal "if you want to do this, buy an M1" answer that holds true; it might be true for you, but you didn't even elaborate why you think that's the case...

Bummer, I have a Dell employee discount coupon but they will not allow it on laptop otherwise sweet deal.

I work for Dell but their employees discount is one coupon per year and it can only be used like 5 times a year

Good specs for price. Obviously clearing stock for new hardware cycle. Everything is releasing soon... New GPUs from AMD and nVidia and new CPUs from Intel and AMD along with new motherboard chipsets supporting all the new generational upticks...

Biggest downside I see is not including a full keyboard with number pad on a 17" chassis.

I must have missed it in the spec, I'll edit my post.

I see now.... AMD Smart Access Graphics is their MUX term.

I think it's less clearing stock and more of a standard price adjustment after launch. I don't think the market is doing well in a lot of areas, and they're also forced to reduce prices for that reason. It'll be a while before high end 'next gen' AMD GPUs are in laptops.

No, it is a standard 17% off. I wish it was 50% but I don't think any company gives that much

How long does the battery last? I'm only using it at home, so portability is a not a priority. However, I tend to work outside, move around the house a lot. gaming would be plugged. but it would be very convenient to at least do web browsing outdoors (screen brightness 100%) for the whole morning.
CPU is crazy effecient, with power savings settings and low screen brightness I would guess 12+ hours. Hard to imagine normal office use office use with super bright screen would be far off of 4-5 hours of battery life.

Yep, I just pulled the trigger on this. 12 months 0% financing is also a win. I've been looking for something in this spec range for awhile now, and this beats anything I've found by at least $500.

Also AMD/AMD is a plus, some cool memory and power management features when you go that route.
